Hi. I've noticed for the past year or so that I haven't seen Eureka vacuums in stores like Walmart. Is Eureka getting out of the vacuum business? |

Eureka WAS owned by Electrolux AB but is now owned by Midea of China. |

Nope, Eureka is still around here. You might have distribution problems in your area if they pulled the old stock or clearanced it out for new stock - and have not gotten the new stock in yet due to the pandemic. That cargo ship that got stuck in the Suez Canal last month delayed international shipping supplies like crazy - so bad that it even affected gas prices and new car production.

Interesting to note that Midea is now selling their Eureka vacuums - albeit a very small lineup - in Europe as well as North America. The vacs don’t look anything like the Eurekas we used to know over the past few decades. I don’t even think that there is one bagged vacuum in the entire line-up....☹️
It’s now just another brandname among the scores of vacuum brandnames being churned out by some central “English Brand Name Committee” in Beijing: Xiami, Moosoo, Tineco, Liectroux (a take on Electrolux), etc. |

Midea has owned Eureka for several years now. The new Eureka FloorRover is an interesting vacuum that I personally enjoy using. The problem for vacuum repair stores is that parts, bags, etc. for the old Eureka cleaners are no longer available as Genuine Eureka parts. What's left is the bojack bags and filters, although some parts distributors may still have new old stock.
The central vacs and attachment kits are made now by another company which means parts for the Eureka/Electrolux power nozzle (like wands) are available. |

At the same time Electrolux sold off Eureka to Midea, they sold the companion Sanitaire line off to Bissell, which continues to make Sanitaire branded machines that are at least cosmetically similar to the classic Eureka/Sanitaire uprights. The only thing is they're not available through the retail channel at places like Wally World anymore. You have to get them through janitorial supply companies.

I have not seen Eureka vacuums around much either. I did see a new shipment at Home Depot awhile ago.
As for Kenmore they are trying to push the floorcare line through retailers other than Sears. Through TV infomercials, and online through Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes’ websites. Haven’t seen them appear in any physical stores other than Target though. Also I have seen some Eureka Mighty Mites with the new Eureka logo so that classic model seems to be sticking around at least. |
