To the best of my knowledge, there has never been a legitimate "Service Manual" published nor written to outline the proper maintenance & repair procedures for Royal Prince m501/m5000 Hand Vacuums.  -  For the last 25+ years, the only document that even remotely resembles a Service Manual for Royal Prince Hand Vacuums has consisted of a decades-old hand-drafted schematic drawing (shown as an exploded diagram) & a corresponding list of parts.  (Any VacuumLand member who owns a Royal Prince Hand Vacuum probably knows *exactly* which document I'm referring to.)

The good 'ole schematic drawing can be helpful... but it leaves *a lot* to be desired. - Especially because it doesn't show *any* details about the motor or motor components, and there's zero information about proper lubrication of the two sleeve bearings.

Fast forward to the Year 2021...

I've wanted to make an informational video on the Royal Prince Hand Vacuums for some time... But I have to thank to VacuumLand member RegularRett69 for his help in giving me a motivational push to actually get it done...

So last week, when I received my most recent eBay purchase in the mail - A 1995 Royal Prince 501 - I decided that this would be *the perfect opportunity* for me to finally make a video on the proper maintain/repair/service procedures for one of these vintage Royal Prince Hand Vacuums!

Without further ado...

I present to you the Official VacuumLand.Org Premier of:

"Royal Prince 501 Hand Vacuum Service Tutorial"

By: UberGreenGuru

Video Description:

"In this video, I take an in-depth look at the inner workings of a Vintage 1995 Royal Prince 501 Hand Vacuum (w/ 1.8 amp motor) & show viewers how-to properly repair & service their vacuum.  --  This includes detailed information on how-to correctly disassemble, clean, lubricate, and reassemble a Vintage Royal Hand Vacuum from start to finish."

I must formally warn everyone that this video is an entire 2 Hours, 9 Minutes, 27 Seconds long from start to finish. - But it is probably *THE* most thorough & in-depth breakdown of a Royal Prince 501 Hand Vacuum anyone could possibly ask for... down to even the smallest details.

In making this video, my goal was to try and bridge the informational gap that exists regarding Royal Prince Hand Vacuums & provide a definitive video guide to help Royal Prince owners properly maintain their vintage hand vacuums for years to come.

I truly hope this video proves to be a valuable resource for anyone looking for information on how to correctly assemble/disassemble, maintain, repair, restore, and/or service Vintage Royal Prince m501 & m5000 Hand Vacuums!

THANK YOU FOR WATCHING!

Sincerely,

~Justin In Chicago

Justin,

Here's a few older 501 parts lists I have for your reference. This time, I also included the parts list for the 1960s models.
