Kirby G series bag clips--two different versions

I just made an interesting discovery. It appears Kirby makes two different versions of the plastic clip that attaches the top of the bag assembly to the handle on G-series and newer machines.

While I was eating my lunch, I got the bright idea to swap bag clips around between my Diamond G and my G5 'Frankenkirby' so that I would have the proper gray clip on my Diamond G, on which I had installed a black replacement clip last month. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the original factory clips on those bags were solid across where it goes up under the fabric loop, meaning were obviously put on the loop before the bag was sewed together, while the black replacement clip I bought for the Diamond G is split for easy, non-destructive, no-tools installation.

While this is certainly thoughtful of Kirby—and I'm thankful the replacement version was available—I have to wonder why. The only thing I can come up with is the solid version is enough stronger than the split version that they are warranted for original installation. While it would have been nice to make that swap, I'm perfectly okay with leaving things the way they are.
