Seriously somebody's going to pay over $1,200 for a Fantom?!?!
I highly doubt the content in that box is intact. CLICK HERE TO GO TO vacuumdevil's LINK on eBay |

I guess it's cool and all, but I don't really have an interest in having a brand new in box vacuum.
It just doesn't make sense to me, because if I get one, I'm going to want to use it. If I did use it, then I wasted all that money and it won't be brand new anymore. I'm sort of the same way with even new modern vacuums. In all the time I've collected, I've only ever bought on brand new machine, and I still haven't ever used it! With used ones I feel ok if it happens to get minor scuffs or scratches, since it probably already has a few. If it was a brand new vintage machine, I'd feel like it would never be new again no matter how much I babied it. |

Look at the bidding history. "n....t" put in a $250 first bid. Same bidder is now high bidder at $2150.00 Is an old dust belching Fantom (which James Dyson despised) really worth that much? Or, could it be a shill bidder? We will find out when the item is or is not relisted due to high bidder failure to pay. If they are actually worth that much, I have one that's been used once. Wow.
I'm not a bagless vacuum fan to begin with, so maybe I'm not the one to judge. But just, wow. Truth be told, I actually bought a Fantom Thunder a while back. (Maybe a couple of years ago?) I only bought it because it was a low mileage, one owner, dirt cheap early version, and came with lots of original stuff. I used it once, just to say I tried it, and it's been sitting in the corner ever since. If I had the sense I was born with, I'd sell it and free up a little space. Especially if someone was willing to pay this kind of money for it! Okay...mine isn't new in the box. So, I'd take half of this price for it! 😉 Barry |

I'm in the 'burbs, about 15/20 minutes from Springfield.
I know I SHOULD sell it. I'm just not good at such things. I find it far easier to buy than to sell. I'm attaching a couple of pictures of mine. Bear in mind, they were taken when I first brought it home, and I hadn't cleaned it up at all. It looked significantly better after some TLC. Barry |

Thanks Mitchell.
Knowing that almost makes me want to keep it. But, I'm more of a bagged canister/Electrolux fan. Especially since it's a fairly rare example, it should really be in the collection of someone who would really appreciate it; maybe even run it once in a while. I'm just not good at selling things. I wouldn't know what to ask for it, to be fair to both parties. I definitely wouldn't ship it. I have too much other stuff to deal with. Etc, etc. Barry |
