An Oreck XL100c,painted blue with the logo on the headlight cover? Not a big Oreck fan, but even I am thinking of getting it and building a unique Oreck from the ground up. Maybe this was a special promo thing? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Oreck-XL-Uprigh...

I seen that last year and skipped right over it. But now that you made me look at it harder - I actually have absolutely no idea. It looks like when Orecks were transitioning from the old no-headlight hoods to lighted hoods. Maybe a prototype or design test mule?

I can't find any Oreck XL1000 photos, the serial number is 1996, and the prong is an ancient non-polarized 2-prong cord. Kind of strange.

Hmmm

I didn't notice the date code, they started making the first 9100s with headlights in the early 90s, and I always thought 100c Oreck models were pretty much 80s only. Maybe a rebuild? I do see an Oreck sticker on the top of it. But that wouldn't explain why it appears to be blue plastic and not grey plastic painted blue, plus that weird headlight cover.

I just noticed the seller has the entire auction wrong. I just now saw that the model tag says "100 C" and not "1000". No wonder I could not find it. I'll keep looking.
