I like both of those suggestions!
Flower power/spring theme would be quite timely. And, I was always fond of the whole 1970s patriotic period. I don't know if it was entirely because of the bicentennial, but patriotic themes seemed to be everywhere in the '70s. Looking forward to seeing what you and Jeff come up with! Barry |

this has to be the most confusing thread ever! " My friend took Pics", but they can't be viewed here! Then John, what's the point of this thread? G |

Yes, my father's side is also from the south. We know all about mint Julips and the like.
And, yes, we "Yankees" are near New York, 2.5 hours. Not trying to cause anyone to 'lose' or 'win', for that matter. I know you prefer beverages with a little kick to them. I don't drink at all. But, I do know how to entertain. I've been called so many things. "Darlin' is a first. Thanks. So, relax.. no contest or competition here, Charlie. |

John Darlin'
I made a trip to Club Betty more than five years ago and the only drink that has a kick in it for me is caffeine or fresh mint. I guess you have been out of the loop? Please fact-check before making unsavory references to a person's preferences for beverages. Now, who needs to relax my sweet? |

As far as being out of the loop, most of us haven't seen you in years. You've missed the conventions. There were absolutely NO unsavory comments about beverage preferences. You did enjoy them. I'm glad club Betty was a help. You'll live a longer, happier life. I hope you realize that I'm being sincere, and not nasty.I need no fact checking. I'm also not going to do the back and forth thing here. So, all the best to you, Charles.

Oh John, you make me laugh! You and your ilk were thrilled I didn't show up with any of my posse. We know you don't care for us. Truth be known, the unsavory comments were flying in many directions. I have it on good authority. I don't think you are being nasty but I think you are glad we are gone for the most part. That is called passive-agressive.
I spent a very interesting afternoon a few years ago with a former friend of yours in Dunmore who filled me in on so many interesting aspects of your life. People who live in glass houses............. BTW, I will do the back and forth thing here! C'mon man! |

I , and many others DID enjoy you being around. You cannot state that I'm glad you're gone. That was your choice.
As far as my former friend in Dunmore, it all depends on what was said, the context, and how much of it is true. We all know, there are several sides to everything. I'm not about to entertain any of that. As stated before, You and I NEVER had a cross word. So, I don't see the need for any more mishigas. |

Oh my darlin', you bring so much on yourself. You are correct, I can't verify, " cannot state that I'm glad you're gone". But John, it all gets back to us. You can't trust most people. I would have that you knew that by now.
The "ruling", body of the club was so glad to see me and the other former so-called, "power clique", gone, we felt the door slamming on our asses. We were never invited back in any way, shape, or form. That is the way of clubs.....we accepted it. But, it was never, as you stated, "our choice". As you said, there are several sides to everything but for some of us, that was not the case. There was a judge, jury, and executioner. Ever wonder why there are 12 to 20 old posters that disappeared? I would be quick to remind you that in your words, "there are several sides to everything". It appears to many there is one. I plan to attend your convention in Scranton with some of the old folks. We'll see how it goes and just how welcome we are. |

I cannot, will not speak for anyone else, (and , I NEVER do). But, I CAN say this: I will/plan to be gracious to you and EVERYONE else. AND..... I plan/will WELCOME you into my home, yes, my house. It is a place where I invite family and friends to share good times and very good food...... which has been criticized over and over.
You, Charlie, and everyone else will be graciously welcomed into this big old house by ME.If you didn't realize that, then you don't know me at all. I've been planning a very nice convention for ALL of us. You'll all be served fresh, home made food and beverages... water, sodas, and, yes... The Pittston Hospital iced tea. Drink it or don't. It is my plan/intention for all members to feel most welcome in Scranton AND Pittston. But (I) have drama? um, no. I'll welcome you, graciously. Perhaps you'll find that some of what you've heard, is untrue. |
