Has anyone else got an update on the future of Tristar? I was visiting with a friend from the club and this person had heard Tristar was stopping production of their cleaners. It was their understanding they would be making other products but not the vacuum.

The future of TriStar/not Electrolux is very grim and confusing.

Aerus

Aerus is doing just fine. They are not closing up shop. Their air purification line is being sold faster than they can make them. They are actually expanding like crazy. If you want to see how they are doing google activepure technologies. As a matter of fact some new stuff is going to be coming to market soon.

TriStar

I was talking with another collector today and they had not one but 2 good sources inform them that TriStar cleaners will be or maybe have already stopped production. I just think it is sad when old reliable companies leave us. I can imagine the air cleaners are doing ok but I don't think we have any more Aerus branches in our state. It is hard to complete when you don't have a place for customers to take their machines for service and parts. Even a very old and established name will become unknown to the public in just a few short years. I live in an area of younger families and I doubt any would even know what an Aerus vacuum was or maybe even the Electrolux name except in a major appliance. It's all about either Sharp or Dyson around here now.

For those folks that have Aerus air purifiers they will still need to get filters and UV bulbs for them. Some of the UV bulbs are not user replaceable. You have to take the machine to the store.

They are the same machine. the website has a copyright of 2019 and talks about Aerus in their about us section. They may retire the TriStar name, but who knows for now.
