Dyson has trademarked TM names of V12 and V15 (no V13 for obvious reasons and no V14) also with the detect name after as well, so V12 detect and V15 detect! There is also Carbon Fibre 3 that has been TM too! So it may be that short clip on the home page refers to new pickup technology within the cleaner head and/or for it to detect something something it’s picking up! I’m sure we will all find out soon!

I’m not sure and there is no TM for either with Outsize against them yet! They would well launch both with the TM’s that have been registered. V16 to V20 are also registered TM’s by Dyson but no ‘detect’ versions of them!
Interesting there are patents filed nearly 2 years ago that have been published over the last few months or so that refer to the cleaner head one with a hollow deformable seal and others that mention about the brush bar being used on hard floors and wear and tear on the brush bar with a process without user having to switch it off for hard floors! Assuming it refers to the standard floor head on the cordless that has carbon fibre bristles for hard floor pick up nylon bristles for carpet cleaning in one brush bar! |

It’s strange V14 is missed out but I can understand why they missed V13 out as they never did to my knowledge a DC13! A lot of companies, manufacturers and builders don’t like numbering something 13 as they see it as an unlucky number!
Be interesting to see if their development and research on solid state batteries makes an appearance or they still have some way to go with that. I’m sure they’ll be squeezing out more power and runtime from the battery and a more power dense motor without the added weight, or any more energy used. I’m sure they will keep the display screen and count down runtimes on the battery usage! I can not see any confirmed date on Dyson’s website of Facebook page! They do tend to launch new vacuum cleaners yearly but they didn’t really realise anything totally new apart from the V11 Outsize and updates to the standard V11 lineup! With Dyson only doing cordless machines now and at present the stick form you may find they do less launches with only having this one design. Or there is a big improvement with a new model over the current one! Saying that the V10!was followed a year later by the V11 so time will tell in the future! |

Must of removed it! Doesn’t appear when I checked. Least the reveal is very soon.
Yeah unless they change the shape of the battery housing! They have on the Omni-guide models that have the battery in the straight handle! Longer runtimes, denser batteries, lighter in weight and quick charge times will come once solid state battery technology is launched. Something Dyson is working on! No the in line style will probably stay at least for a while! Unless they have a new design on this release! |

Very exciting news and I really hope that one of them is something else than a stick vacuum. I mean Dyson has the technology and performance (for a cordless vacuum), but just making bigger and bigger stick vacuums is not for me. Stick vacuum is fine if it's light. After V10 they just got too heavy & uncomfortable to use.
I have been hoping some time now Dyson to design cordless compact upright. That would solve the handle weight problem. Not to mention bigger bin, bigger motor and bigger battery, longer run time, onboard hose etc. I mean not too big obviously. A lot of people like stick vacuums and Dyson will always make them, but they are not for everyone. A lot of people still like their ball uprights. So let's hope cordless Dyson upright is coming :) |

I wonder if they ever will make anything other than the stick form they have adapted currently for their cordless range!? From what you read and interviews from Dyson and James Dyson himself it’s seems they are happy to go down the stick format. Their mantra seems to be ever smaller, lighter and more powerful so be interesting to see in the future if they steer away or add a different cordless format to the lineup! To Dyson the stick format is what they think works for quick cleans, versatility etc..etc...but as they try to cover and please different home setups small, medium and large then you start to add size and weight to that setup!
Maybe once their solid state battery technology is launched it may open up more possibilities for different cordless vacuum forms from Dyson. |

Yes it will be interesting to see if the trigger is still present! The Omni-Glide models have a power button in place of the trigger but that may be down to the new handle design on them! Saying that I’m surprised they used a power button on these as the runtime is only 20 mins but they are designed I think for quick cleans!

Can someone explain to me what solid state batttery technology is? Also do you think dyson will just present it on its website or do you think they'll do some sort of presentation launch event like they did with the v10. |

@juju93 here is a brief overview of a form of solid state batteries:
“A solid-state battery is a battery technology that uses solid electrodes and a solid electrolyte, instead of the liquid or polymer gel electrolytes found in lithium-ion or lithium polymer batteries.” This new battery technology will enable light in weight batteries, dense energy storage, longer runtimes and quick charging times. Better life cycle so they last longer. These are things that are being mentioned with this new battery technology! Dyson and other Manufacturers are looking at developing their own versions of it especially the EV car markets! It’s hard to say how they will launch it, would think some sort of presentation as the post that they mentioned the launch date mentions ‘see it in action’ |

Have they not replaced the V11 Outsize with the V11 Outsize Origin?
Dyson usually scale down the current model that was last launch before a new model launch..previous history! As they are only developing and launching new cordless models maybe they want to keep the older cones like the V7 and V8 as like entry level models in the market place! Apparently the V8 was their fastest selling cordless to date!! I would think base models or so of the V10 and V11 will remain on sale. Plus they are sort of limited with their range/models now only having one cordless variant - stick format! Hence the older cordless models still available. Whereas they had Uprights, canisters, cordless handhelds, cordless stick machines and now they just develop the cordless stick format! |

So the big new feature is that is will have a built in laser to measure the size and counts of particles it picks up? Might have been better off developing an automatic brush roll cleaning capability... |

@juju93 there is a V12 Detect Slim...see video below but nothing appearing on any Dyson websites when I last checked! Looks like it comes only with the new Slim laser fluffy head!
target="_blank">m.youtube.com/watchQUESTIONMARKR... Personally think now Dyson are only developing cordless machines I can’t see them doing major big complete new vacuum cleaners every year! Especially sticking to one cordless form the stick format! If you think the V10 was launched in 2018 and the V11 2019 with additional V11 models later in 2020. Do it’s been 2 years before the V15 is now launched! The next major vacuum technology development from Dyson really will be its own battery technology they are working in including solid state batteries! But you never know what else they may launch! |

Try this link, apologies the other was missing a part of it!!
target="_blank">m.youtube.com/watchQUESTIONMARKR... I believe the display shows the same as the V11 so clogs, filter maintenance! One thing some have mentioned have they solved the issue the previous V10/V11 had. that when you empty the bin you can accidentally pull the trigger and cause the filter to clog! |
