In today's POD it mentions steel wool pads included on one of the floor scrubber/polishers. I've seen them mentioned before in vintage floor scrubber ads but I don't know what they would be used for. Does anyone out there know what was their use?

Dear VEROROGER, steel wool pads were often used with foor polishers with the purpose of removing a very thin superficial layer especially on unfinished wooden floors to revome minor scratches before applying a new coat of wax and polish it!
I hope this helps!
Greetings
Tommy
