You need some Canvacs, unless you're not a canister person. I used to collect just the canisters. |

You should also consider collecting some Dirt Devil central vacs or even install one in your home:)

I agree with what everyone has said, they are some cool uprights, and those are good recommendations. I've also been looking at some of Dirt Devils central vacuums, they have a whole lineup and a nice assortment for generally different houses and situations. The Power Pak and can vac canisters are very nice, I have not found one for a good price with its powerhead yet though. I just gotta keep waiting and something will come along. They made a lot of different variations of the Power Pak. They even used to sell Can Vacs with the power nozzle port in the handle section, and sold power nozzle kits at Walmart and such so you could convert to a Power Pak.
I think if you can find an Ultra MVP for a good price, especially a Magnum MVP by Dirt Devil, get it, they are what I've heard to be the best Dirt Devils that Royal made.
My advice is to not pay over $75 for any non-TOL used Dirt Devil. That'll save some money.
Regards, Garrett |

Dirt Devil has been selling central vacs for quite a while now, they are made by H-P Products in North Canton, Ohio under license by TTI (Yes these are assembled in the US). They are also the same company that makes Vacuflo and other brands they also own as well.
www.h-pproducts.com/resid... They sell both bagless and bagged power units, they also sell the RV central vac which is one of their hot sellers. www.amazon.com/Products-9... These are one of the better central vacuums out in the market today, they're actually one of my top recommended companies to anyone looking for a central vac. The bagged models are amazing, I love their DB7000 model. The bagless models are also great, but my only criticism with them by far is the filters are non washable, expensive to replace yearly, and they leak through the gasket to cause the motors to sound nosier overtime. They had these in three different colors before. Red, white, blue as the Platinum Force line, and now they're currently black. They also sold these under the Royal brand before in blue as well. Check out Dirt Devil's central vac website. www.dirtdevilcentral.com/... |

I believe there were only two central vac units that were made by Hoover themselves from my understanding, then the rest were made by a Canadian company called Cana-Vac which are still around today. I wouldn't hesitate anyone to look into Cana-Vac, I think they sell good power units.

I remember the Hoover CVs from like the late 80s or 90s. They had the wire reinforced hose and the same handle as my Dimension 1000 from the 80s had. Also the same Quadraflex power nozzle. |

Dirt Devil - Vax
I'd love to have one. That isn't even mentioned on my list of dirt devils to suggest to people just because of its rarity! It's called the Cyclone. I'll put some pictures. Dirt Devil also used to have more custom units made for them, I guess not anymore. Like the platinum force lineup, they had a CV made for that.
Thanks, Garrett |
