Hello! I have a Numatic NVQ 380-b22..I am sorry for the simple language, I am not a technical guy. I bought this years ago brand new and just opened it now. - Long story- Beside the power switch there is an outlet for a two pronged plug, like you'd plug into an electrical outlet, not two skinny pins) and it says "for use with a motorized brush".. Where on earth can I find one or one that will work. I drew an arrow in the attached picture, the plug has two small inserts, not a big one and small one)

I too have a Numatic Henry with a PN outlet...I'll post pics this weeks of how I converted a regular US plug that fits perfectly. It's still going strong 15 year later, though is a little loose. I earn my living cleaning house with this great vacuum! One of the best purchases I've ever made!! Greg | ||

The only other thing I can think you'd need is possibly a button lock for the end of your hose wand. Does yours have a button to hold the wands in place? If not you'll need to get a button lock, then carefully measure, drill a hole, and slide the button into place. | ||

Gregvacs28 no it doesn't have a button. Actually it doesn't have a metal part..just a plastic insert. I'll take a pic tomorrow. I also have 20 Hoover convertibles from the early 80s never opened in box. We used to own a department store and have thousands of items in storage . Lol. 40 years lol. Think they'd sell on eBay?

So
Let's make this a little easier for ya. There's another model out there called the NVH380 This machines does have an electric hose. If you got this hose all you'd need is an electric wand and powerhead. The NVH380 normally uses a Sebo ET-1 head but this hose should allow for the hose of other heads like the EBK360 mentioned above.

@Ben770 That's a really cool Numatic you have. Could you tell me the first 2 digits of the serial number? That would indicate the year it was made (example: 96 = 1996, 03 = 2003, 20 = 2020) I'm curious what year was it made because in Europe Numatic stopped putting a PN outlet since the late 90's.
@Blackheart That's a neat hose. Would be ideal for a modded Henry. | ||

Last question .
I also have the Kent euroclean whisperclean. Same issue. It has an input to plug a pn into the body of the vacuum, but the input is just two small circles . Also a good vac, but what pn would I need? Which vac is better?

nvh380 I may look at getting one of those, if they're available in the United States. That's the only down side of the regular Henry, there is no easy way to connect a power nozzle, of course you can use a battery powered nozzle or use an external electric cord but those ways are definitely not the most practical. Yes, if you got the Henry electric hose Blackheart suggested and the powernozzle kit I suggested. That's all you'd need and you wouldn't have to install anything just snap the new parts together and you should be ready to vacuum up all those dog hairs.

And my last question: I also have a new nilfisk gd2000... between the nilfisk and the nacecare, which one should I invest in the power nozzle for? Which is the better Machine? thanks! | ||

numatic vs nilfisk
Well I learned a few things this morning. The GD2000 doesn't have an electric hose it uses an external cable to power it's nozzle. It also uses seemingly uses a proprietary version of the EBK280 Which isn't a bad powerhead it's just probably not ideal for all the pet hair since it's brushroll is pretty soft and small in diameter making it prone to hair tangles. From what searching i've done it also appears the nilfisk nozzle is incredibly expensive i'm seeing like upper 300s or more
And these specs may not be applicable to your Numatic seeing as it's probably older than these specs but i'm seeing the NVQ380 rated at 48 lps and 23 kpa and the GD2000 at 36 lps and 23 kpa. So while similar in lift the numatic should have stronger airflow. So reading these things I would suggest upgrading your Numatic.

So replying at like 4 something in the morning isn't a great idea looking at the parts again I think the cable is already built into the power nozzle it does look pretty long and when you search for the cable you see a plug on one end and just wires on the other meaning it's most likely a replacement wire for the nozzle itself.
Now getting back to the nozzle I've not found a North American source for it just like australia France or the UK www.amazon.co.uk/Nilfisk-... Honestly if you're dead set on getting these your best best is to get in touch with a Nilfisk dealership try Nilfisk's website it should have some sort of contact us section | ||

SO I contacted a vacuum dealer in Ottawa that is a nilfisk rep. Nice guy. He is "creating" a powerhead for me. He has several nilfisk powerheads, he is rewiring one for me as we speak to be compatible. I'm also going to purchase one for my Nacecare. Ill use one upstairs and the other downstairs. My other option was to purchase an upright like a sanitaire traditional with the metal housing. But, I believe that a commercial canister like I have is the best so ill bite the bullet and go for it. The powerhead for the nilfisk will be about 350$ Canadian. Ill post some pics. Ive had a kirby and a rainbow , but I think this is the right option. Ive got some old hoover convertibles from the 80' still in unopened boxes, and a few kenmore canisters that are olive green with wood paneling in unopened boxes. I know nothing about them, it's such a long drawn out story why I have them, but I'm going to put them on ebay just so get of them. Id love your advice. Thank you to everyone for the advice. | ||

Here goes
Well.. long story short.
My grandparents were immigrants from Eastern Europe and opened a small department store that eventually became a very very very large department store in the 70's and 80's. My grandfather also had a liquidation store. Whatever he could buy bulk he resold as well as anything that didn't sell in his main store he'd sell there. He also had a 20,000sqft "warehouse". Somehow in the 1970's he purchased in bulk Kenmore appliances from a store that either closed or burned, or something , and he put all that stuff in storage. In the late 80's he shut his large store and whatever he could not sell off he put in storage. He passed away last year at 98, and his warehouse full of untouched merchandise...32 years or so...was left to me. I'm paying insane storage fees so...im trying to sell off what I can before I donate 30+year old appliances that are new, but old. It bothers me a bit... I had an ad on Kijiji, (not sure you have that in the U.S.) but I was offering free new appliances and furniture to anyone in need provided they picked up and delivery ect..I had all of 6 people respond in a polite way. I had a liquidator contact me an offer me 5k for everything (that did not end well). One family that took a new washer and dryer told me they were going to sue me because they were not HE.. I am a lawyer so that did not end well....So...There is my story. lol. | ||

Great story, thanks. It's amazing how some people had hardware stores, etc. After they passed, relatives had to liquidate everything.
There was a family owned hardware store on my Main Street. The hubby died yrs ago. His wife, Helen, recently passed. The kids liquidated everything in one fell swoop, to list the property for sale. I always bought there. I'd love to have been able to see what was still there. In a neighboring town, a similar thing. The family found NIB Hoover Convertibles...as, a lot of hardware stores sold vacuums. Best of luck with your clearance . | ||
