So I drove 2 North Baltimore & found a NIB Compact at the St Vincent de Paul thrift store. Its a gold C8 with all accessories, PN & non-electric hose (has the cord strapped onto the outside of hose

Its my 1st time going 2 a thrift store since Covid (I last stopped at the Goodwill in Bowling Green B4 the lockdown)

I also found a Capehart console stereo with BSR 3 speed record changer. The right speaker sounds weak, the SP20 45 RPM adapter is broken & it needs a new needle (stylus). I'll have to grease the changer components (but afraid to break a part). The controls (bass, treble, volume & balance) make static noise when I adjust any of the buttons

The SVDP store also had a painting of the Roberts IGA grocery store (built around 1976; has been remodeled a # of times since, & became Great Scot community markets around 2007)

That's a rare very nice vacuum. You barely see them on ebay nib let alone a thrift store.
The radio sounds sweet. I'd say you got a score nobody really might ever have.
Congratulations

You had a great shopping day!

A NIB Compact C-8? That would make my day and then some. Radio Shack and others sell spray contact and lubricant cleaner and regular contact cleaner. I would use the lubed spray on controls that get a lot of use,IE: vol control, mode switches and your pots etc. I would avoid spraying the lubed cleaner near the dial face or anywhere you don't want an oily residue showing.

Put a plastic accessory piece on the compact and vacuum the inside of the tuner/amp! Glad you decided to buy when you had the chance instead of going home and sleeping on it because the next day....as Mike from the show Pickers says,"the time to buy is when you see it." Billy

looks like the Coronado (Gamble-Skogmo) console stereo that I once had (the larger speakers have 'coffee cans')

The G/S Coronado door opens on the right side; & Capehart on left side

I had a new in box compact. There was a huge surplus of them new in box a few years back. Lots of members here found them. A great find indeed

Wish I had proper pictures of it still. It resides with my friend currently back in Nebraska.

Found better pics.

Think all the new ones members here got were green or gold.
