I'm interested in adding a CV to my <1,000 square foot condo. I want the unit to fit in either a large cabinet I have or a closet. I would be using it with the utility valve or piping it to one inlet and perhaps a vacpan.

I have seen the compact "OVO" brand units on Amazon, but I'm not really familiar with that brand.

I would prefer bagged, as I will not be venting externally. It is also important that it be quiet. I have a mix of carpet and tile, but will probably just get a tool kit with pigtail electric for the power nozzle.

I appreciate any recommendations!

My advice

Go to a local vacuum store or contact a local central vacuum dealer and see what they would offer for your needs. And I would look into brands that are only sold through authorized retailers like MD, Cyclovac, Vacuflo, etc. I would avoid buying online like Amazon unless if you have a dealer of a brand like OVO that is close by to you. Also I would look into powerheads that are made from high end brands like Sebo, Lindhaus, Wessel Werk, etc.

MD Personally

If you're comfortable doing your own work, a Flowmaster 450t from MD would work well. Plenty of power, relatively small, and not super loud. The only downside is that it lacks a utility valve, however, it would be easy enough to connect a utility port yourself.

If not that, the Airmaster 450t would also be great, as it will have a utility valve, AND it's a hybrid unit that uses MD's better Tru-Seal bag.

my suggestions

If your condo can be cleaned with a 50 foot hose, which it probably can, I would get the Vacumaid Garage Vac Pro. This uses a central vacuum motor but just has a utility inlet on the front that you connect your hose to. It comes with a straight suction hose but you can connect an electric hose to it. For power nozzles I would suggest a Sebo, that's probably the best power head you can get, these two links should get you what you need. I have this vacuum in my collection and it's awesome.

And I would suggest this Sebo electric kit.

This should make a very nice combination.

Some affordable options currently on Ebay.

Top fill bagged units.

You can get hoses for $100-$200 depending what you're looking for.

Vacumaid Garage Vac Pro

Is a good vacuum BUT

It does not have an electronic control module if you should want to have remote control via an electric hose. All it has is a simple on/off switch.
Great Motor though.
I know, I have one. I already have a separate motor control module so at $180 NEW it was a real bargain.

740 airwatts. After I did my special sound insulation package it's QUIET !

It's only about 24-26" tall and bagged.
