I just got this Vacuette Electric today. I won it in that big vacuum auction that took place during the past month or so. According to the auction company, it didn’t turn on when they initially tried to test it. So I’ll have to figure out what it needs. Anyway, here it is!

I got my winnings today too, said it didn't work, cord was shot. Works like new now! Try it with a better cord, it will probably work just fine.

Yours must be a newer model than mine. Mine has the wooden handle, yellow background on the nameplate, and a switch on the motor (like a Kirby C). Congratulations on a very rare machine.

Sorry to ask this:

Was there a lot of bidding on either of you two's vacuums? Congratulations to both of you for winning. Billy

Ben:
Thank you! Hopefully it’s an easy fix and won’t be too hard to do. It’ll be a fun project either way.

Tom:
I can agree with that. I remember seeing yours and trying it out. Yours is more like a C and mine is more like an R. Very interesting indeed. Thank you! I can’t wait to get it working.

Billy:
You’re good. There really wasn’t much bidding at all actually. I was the first bidder. Then within the last day of the auction, it was bid up a few times. But I then put down one last bid towards the end, and ended up winning. Very happy I won! Thank you!

I was one of the bidders. It was 16 bids so probably 7 or 8 people bid and he bid the highest. I bid up to $200 and I tapped out.
I was hoping nobody was watching and I'd snag it but there's maybe 2 or 3 through vacuum collectors. Pop the cord off put on a newer kirby cord and the the axle.
Congratulations.

I took the motor apart and cleaned it out some. Plugged it in, and it sounds healthy. So all I need to do is get an axle, a correct bag, and a new cord with motor plug going up into the handle.

I’m going to bring it back some, with some hand polish, and some wipes. Then eventually get it restored back to its former glory. That will be sweet!
