I found an absolutely stunning Hoover model 102 Vacuum, however, someone at some point put in a Hoover model 541 fan. It doesn’t fit quite right.
Is there any chance someone out there has an extra laying around in a bin?

Photo of the fan is the one that is needed.. not what I have.

Happy to purcha$e!

Thanks :)

Oh wow I have to comment on that bag. Very impressive to see an original. So rare!

Question for you Kyle: Did the Robins and Meyers 102 fan fit the Hoover motor 105?

As far as I know the 105 was also a R&M motor. The first Hoover motor in house was the 541. I believe the 102 and 105 are damn near identical.

All the 105's I've ever seen have had a Hoover-built motor. If I'm not mistaken, the way to identify a Hoover-built motor is one that has the nameplate on the front of the motor as opposed to the brass name plate on top of the Robins and Meyers designs. Good to know both models used the same fan.

My 105...

With the name plate on the front is a R&M motor. So maybe it’s different, but it says Springfield, OH. Just a few miles up the roads from here!

Thanks Kyle.

1922 is the last patent date on my 105 (I got it from Stan Kann). It has a Hoover-built motor. Yours is the only 105 I've ever seen with that motor nameplate like that.

The embossed bumper is really something to me. I just love it!

That dainty bag sure is something. Amazing to see an original one still. Considering the bag dragged on the ground, any today is a fear. My friends Spangler suction sweeper (model o) was missing its original bag but he created a great replica using a very thin cloth slightly thicker than a pillowcase

Kyle: Amazing restoration. You did a wonderful job. Those machines are so quiet and easy to use. Hard to believe it's a century old.

All of the place

I drive pretty much the entire Midwest looking for these. I have 50+ absolutely stunning projects in the works. I’ll keep posting about them for many to enjoy.
Might as well work in another passion while Broadway is still shut down.

Sounds just like my 102 I used to have. Loved vacuuming the house with it though its a bit odd adjusting to the straight wooden broom handle

"--drive--the entire Midwest looking--"

You should drive east Tenn but NOT until a collector who knows how to use a phone arrives later this month and ONLY with advance notice to tell me the type vacs you want. The MANY vacs here are mostly from 1920s-90s with some older and newer.
