Can anyone confirm whether this will work on the rexair model B vacuum?

The machine end is for a Model D series, if you have the machine end for a A, B or C Rexair then you can cut off the machine end on the hose and glue the Model B end in. Then it would look like this

I have a really nice original hose but don't want to cut the end off to put on a new hose I can vacuum with. Should I just continue to keep it in the closet on the shelf? I believe everything is original plus I also have 2 extra water basins with it
