I have a 1992 Henry with a powerhead socket on the back and would like to get a powerhead to cope with the carpet. Would a central vac head + cable work? Thanks!

if the henry has enough cfm it would be ok using a suction power turbo cat for a central vacm but henry does make a suction powerd turbo brush as well...

Well what plug do you have on it? From what i've seen most numatic powernozzle ports are bladed almost like a standard 2 wire cord. If that's what you have you'll need this cable part number 801408 from there you have a few options. then you can run a cable alongside the hose or get a hose like the wessell werk retrofit hose and then select your powerhead. Just a forewarning this may be a somewhat spendy project if you don't already own a powerhead

Why not contact Nacecare in Toronto, Canada? They are the current North American suppliers for Numatic products. They may be able to find a compatible power nozzle as they used to sell Henrys with power nozzles.

Here is their website:

Option

Cheap option.
The hose isn't an electric hose. If you get a 10 foot extension cord and a pigtail for a power nozzle of your choice. The ends of the cord cut both ends off. You splice and connect the cord to the power switch. The other run it on the hose zip tie every foot or so. The end of the cord splice the pigtail connection to the end of the hose.
I'm not sure how the other options would work as your hose is a straight suction hose.
It's not going to look right unless you spend a good amount of money.

If the back side of your Henry looks like mine it just takes a regular extension cord.

Just get an extension cord at the hardware store or at Walmart, cut off the end that you would plug something into the cord (i.e. a lamp) then splice in a cord for the power nozzle of your choice, tape or wrap the cord around the hose and plug one end into the Henry and the other end plug the power nozzle into the cord.
