We have a vacuum collection auction that is now live! Click below to check out the collection. Be sure to sign up to bid on the site. Auction will be up for 19 days. On site pickup in Central Pennsylvania and shipping is available...vacuums are heavy, so shipping will be pricey!

Thanks for all the interest

It's great that you posted all of that.

I think I already have all of those Hoovers.
But, you were thoughtful to post that for everyone.

What a treasure trove of oddball one-off vacuums! Most you'd be lucky to even hear about in name let alone see IRL.

An Electrolux Thrift!

Among the rarer Royal uprights I saw was the Electro-Hygiene 990 with the removable head (built in July 1986), and a mid-1985 606 Heavy Duty Commercial that was re-branded for Mercury Floor Machines.

Now I know what I'm going to have done with my collection when I'm gone. An on-line auction like this one.

Yeah have an auction broker sort it out, just explain in writing what you have and what you want done with it, a little bit of history, etc. Where to advertise it at as well. Stuff like that.

You could call the auction place. Ask them for length by width by height and weight.
See if you can get a cheaper shipping quote, email prepaid label and send 10% boxing fee.
The person running the auction emails quickly and bis very friendly.
The ten percent shipping is their profit. They make zero profit off shipping.

I'm surprised no one has bid on these yet; those Premiers are very rare!

No shipping cost available up-front is always a deal killer. It could be $5 for the vacs and then they go to ship it and tell you it's about $95-$100.

"Winning Bidders and Buyers will be responsible for paying all shipping, handling, postage, and insurance fees. Plus 10% buyers premium plus a 5% surcharge with debit/credit card for payment."

....no thanks!

-there, like this box of vac parts. If you look closely there is an O.K. Vacuum Whisk Broom, and a Presto Vac Jr sitting in there!

Yeah if they would make the shipping known up front - I'm sure everyone would be all over these for sure.

This one has a rare Electrolux XIIA in it, which for some reason, is harder to find than the earlier XII.

I'd also like to buy from this auction, but I get the feeling that the people who posted it don't know very much about vacuums, let alone how to ship them. I see lots of complete sets broken up. All the Electrolux/canister vacuums and all the hoses and attachments are all split up, without even as little as an attempt to group them by what fits together. It's nice they at least tried to turn them on, though.

There are some vacuums I like in there, but the unknowns regarding shipping are just too high for me. Hopefully the ones that are purchased will be packed adequately and taken care of!

Look in the archives. Many members have been to the auctions and there annual basis.
How the heck do you list 200 plus vacuums for sale and not know how to ship them?
I've been in contact with the person over it and he knows what he is doing.

Inquired and got the actual dollar amount in shipping. $70 that's including all the fees and shipping. I've asked a few other questions and I got a reply to everyone.
In case anyone was wondering.

Thanks for doing that Les,is that a flat rate or is it different depending on region? $70 is pretty steep - especially if you're buying a tiny vacuum.

I asked on shipping for my favorites, lots 42 and 76; the person replied that it will be about $50 to me, possibly implying they can combine if it is a small item and a large one.

The

Vacuum I asked about was the kirby vacuette electric model j. It had an hour and 15 minutes left it was at $400.
He would combine items too.
I was just hoping it stayed under $100.

If you think a motor swap is hard a non working vacuum is even harder. I assume it is just a wire issue.

If it weren't for the high shipping costs, I would bought 4-6 of those. I wanted to find a company that could go there and strap them all down on a single pallet for possible big savings in shipping....didn't find one

Post# 438832 , Reply# 27   2/16/2021 at 19:24 (1,162 days old) by BetaM64 (Avonmore, Pennsylvania, USA)

When I first saw this, I didn't realize how close it was to me. Only a 35-minute drive, that made my shipping concerns go away, though since others have had experience with this seller, I trust it would have gone well anyway. Originally I just wanted the bag off of the 28 (to use on my 150), but then I started to get a bit too excited with the rest of the stuff, after figuring out I was within a reasonable distance.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with my haul. The model 28 came complete in box, and the 300 was complete with attachments. Lots of great stuff! Unfortunately, a lot of things were split up, so I had to buy multiple lots to get everything that went together.

Good for you and congrats!!! the shipping killed my shopping there. If I'd been only 35 miles away I would have cleaned up similar to your take. I wanted several Royals, one Hoover, some compacts and some kirby accessories.

Yeah those mom and pop auction houses seem to only pay off if you are within spitting distance from them and can both pick up and pay in cash. The mysterious shipping fees plus the 15% extra fees just for paying with a credit card + final value fee is just absolutely mental.

Has anyone on here won the auction for lot number 209, it was a hose lot? There is a hose on that rack that goes to one of the machines that I have won, I was wondering if I can purchase it from you?

Hi Bvac6, the hose is all the way on the left, it is a sort of copper looking hose with a white machine end that is about 6" long. Would you be willing to sell it to me?
