Only thing left to do is mend the side of the bag.
No biggie, will be done later today.

Nice

Very nice transformation.
I think I noticed a shiny green grease gun and a green spray bottle nice. I also noticed old school either craftsman or bosch screwdriver and a newer milwaukee cordless drill. I like green, craftsman and milwaukee. They made the hoover shine.

Beautiful. I should clean up my 63s and 29.

What was your hood polish method?

Post# 437641 , Reply# 5   1/23/2021 at 08:59 (1,181 days old) by myvacsrock (USA)

The hood was wet sanded with:
400
800
1000
2000
I then took the Milwaukee polisher laying around in the pictures and buffed it out with mother’s polish on a wool pad. It looks factory new; it really is stunning!

Kyle,

Very impressive and very nice jobs! Looking at your pictures reminded me of how many of those I have done. They have all moved on to other homes but your photos make me wish I still had them!

At one of the conventions you should have a restoration clinic.

Amazing. One thing that stands out on my machines are the worn handles I wish I could find a solution for

Stunning!

I’m so glad to see these in a good home, and how you have brought them back to life!

Bravo!
Lane

Excellent job on those. Now, they'll continue giving great service.
With all the handles w/o a rubber grip: you could always tell if they were right or left-handed, by the way the paint wore off.
I certainly could provide a Convertible for you to do a demo on. Hopefully, you'll be able to at one of our conventions!! ??

Thanks everyone!

Means a lot Charlie! You and your machines were always a source of vacuum restoration inspiration when I was a youngster!

I probably will not attend a convention, nor have a clinic, but currently producing some videos of my own for others to enjoy.

Many more to come.

Model #63

Looking at the first few pics,I'm pretty sure that if the bulb is original, then the last time the hood was off this machine was just before it was installed at the factory.History undisturbed! That hood now is stunning,I say as I pick my jaw up off the floor!Great restoration, I too am looking forward to your upcoming videos, thanks for sharing, Billy

That must have taken you forever to restore all of those vacuums. You did a great job Kyle! Can you rebuild my Hoover model 706?

Post# 437749 , Reply# 17   1/25/2021 at 18:17 (1,179 days old) by myvacsrock (USA)
Christian-

Of course! I rebuild vacuums for people almost weekly at this point.

You’re welcome to swing to Dayton, or ship it out.
Send me a message and we can work out some details.
