Thought I would share this video I made of the Royal Powercast 9000 one of the oddest vacuum cleaners I've ever seen,used, repaired and now own.

I had one and gave it to a relative. Quirky franken-vac is what that is. I had a gray model which was made in Taiwan. I purchased online and was very disappointed in the low quality plastic. It was like a Royal bottom with a dirt devil dirt collection system. It cleaned well. We had a Rainbow demo, and the salesperson was very frustrated with the minuscule amount of dirt it removed after the Royal. The scumbag Rainbow salesperson even sabotaged the vacuum bag to reduce air flow.

I have two of those dogs of a vacuum-frankly the TRADITIONAL Royal metal upright is BETTER,LIGHTER,and MORE efficient.These machine drew a LOT of power when started-you had to step start the thing-and even then sometimes tripped a 15A breaker.The dealer here in Greenville was very excited when these machines were available.I bought one of the first ones-a cleaning service bought several of them.The women maids complained the Powercast was too heavy and awkward for them to use.And a couple of them suffered broken handles when due to the weight the maids dropped them while trying to load them onto their truck.They got traded back for the regular Royal metal uprights and Sanitaire.Both of those were lighter,more rugged,easier to use,and worked better.The bag in the orig Powercast was a disappointment,for the dealer and the customers.Yes-the thin paper bag these used burst on me as well.Glad you mentioned other bag choices.And I like my Kirbys better as well.The Powercast makes the Kirby feel like a lightweight.The Powercast NEEDED a self propel system.Striking looking machine-but underneath a dog.And on my Powerrcasts-the cord holders broke the first time or two I used them.

@huskyvacs that dank meme!
Can I get you in a live chat sometime on the channel?

@Lesinutah it's my job to suffer through bad vacuum so you don't have to.😁

@tolivac That's quite the horror story. You could almost make that into a Netflix original.

@ralph123 thanks for sharing.

It worked well on carpets. The attachments however were awkward. The balance was off.

@rivstg1 Glad you enjoyed.

@sitop I would imagine they would be awkward to use.
