A friend who owns a vacuum cleaner shop here in L.A. got quite a surprise today.

A man walked in with a beautiful vintage Compact and gave it to my friend as a gift!

It's all-original and there's not a scratch on it. The only thing missing is the little insert that goes into the upholstery nozzle.

He was quite bowled over, since he used to be a Compact salesman and sold this very model. He has put it on display in his store. I told him, "Now watch and see how many people come in and ask how much it is!"

It is a very unusual vacuum, no other vacuum like it, and that color is a very big attention getter for sure!

Gorgeous! And I'm sure you're right, they will ask! Goodness knows I would give my left you know what for something that nice. Ironically up until a couple of years ago that little upholstery insert was still floating around here Don't know where it is now. Lovely gift!

I love it. Best compact design. Such an excellent vacuum too.

I'm glad to have grown up around many of these just like it.

Beautiful

I'm very interested in purchasing this well above asking price. Can you relay this to the owner. Long story but willing to share with him. Thank you.

He will undoubtedly get offers

People will see it who are sick of today’s plastic junk and not even realize it’s vintage and think it’s something new and better, others of course will know it’s an oldie but a goodie. This happened with my Electrolux model G after I refurbished it and loaned it to my friend. She was packing to move and the house was a mess and so the G was out and friends came to help her pack, they all saw it as it was in the main hall as you came in the house and wanted one like it and asked her what it was and where she got it!

My Aunt had her mother in laws interstate vacuum after she died. They’ve all passed away now, not sure whatever happened to it but I remember my Aunt telling me what it was when I saw it on a visit and she, an Electrolux 1205 owner, told me what it was and that when they were emptying out the house she decided to take it to keep for her finished basement so she didn’t have to haul the Electrolux down there and that it actually does a great job.

I’ve never had the opportunity to use one of these but perhaps someday I will and experience their greatness.

I’m glad though that this machine didn’t end up dumped in a landfill or thrift store.

Jon

I reply:
In some ways, it's hard to decide which would be the worse fate.

That particular version, with the "filtex-type" tools is very rare. That hose even more so. Wonder if there was a hassock in which it was stored, to keep it so nice?

I love mine, and show it off every chance I get.

How

Well does the polish Aire perform. I have one but it's never left the box. I also have the floor polisher.
Tom I really like those two teal green floor nozzles on the left of the picture. Did health not and royal have similar floor nozzles.

Hi Les:
Royal and Health-Mor had very similar nozzles because Royal built and engineered the first two Filter Queen models (200 and 350).

The Polish-Aire is the turbine driven floor polisher. It works well, as long as the rubber drive belt is still supple.

The Magic-Disc (round one) is actually a carpet sweeper for every day use that makes use of the extension wands as its handle.

That makes sense on the wands looking similar.
I'll know how to use the magic disc now thanks.
