AT my office/restaurant we have a Shark Uplight and at my friend Maria's home and business she has a Shark Stick Duo Clean. They all sound like they are coming in like a jet on landing. They are so loud. I have been thinking about getting a Uplight for my house but because they are so loud I keep changing my mind. Anyone else think the same?

The stick models are, but not the uprights. The stick models have a very tiny motor spinning at a very high RPM, so it does get loud. All stick vacuums are like this. A lot of noise and pitiful pickup capability.

There not loud or pitiful. The rockets are great for wood floors or low carpet area.
The uprights are great for pickup. If you get a duo clean there exceptionally good.
The great thing is if it's picked up it's not going to be chewed up and destroyed.
I have a few and the cfms are above average.

Some people are so arrogant and dense, clearly never tried a Lupe or Dyson V11, or most new Shark Cordless models.....

I'm not interested in anything cordless for many different reasons. If I do something I want corded. I'm specifically talking about corded. I get that noise is subjective. That what maybe loud to some may not be to others. But from my experience and after talking to several other people who own corded stick vacs from Shark. All have said the same thing. They all loud and shrill.

Some of us

Hear the high pitched tones these high rpm machines make more loudly than others of us and find it very irritating. Others don’t. Just an observation I’ve made. I don’t like the high pitch either but some brands are worse than the Shark rockets to me aren’t too bad consider8 g some I’ve heard. Also each motor can end up sounding different than another overall so some a bit more quiet or loud than the average.

Rockets

The older rockets have a higher pitch but the duo clean most certainly don't.
The newer duo clean have 2 more filters than the older rockets. It could be the older ones your thinking of.

I think you have nailed that one Les, my little shark rocket that I got from Costco last year duo clean does pretty decent on shorter pile rugs and very good on floors on the sound isn't bad at all ,really very easy to live with.

I personally can't stand Shark vacuums.
You hit the nail on the head they sound horrible.

It might be worth preserving one for a collection since they generally don't last more than about 6-12 months.

But I wouldn't expect to daily drive it.

Hmm

Ya can never convince you otherwise. If you had one think of it as a small shop vac without getting bulky shop vac out.
There are other great things but that's okay.

This is my newest Shark stick vac in my collection, cordless, and this is how loud it is. I question the hearing capacity of people that do not think it is loud because this thing is loud enough to hear from 4 rooms away on the opposite side of the house. It is even worse when you are right over it. It is a very harsh high pitched loudness too, not the same rumbling dull loudness as older upright vacuums.

I will get a decibel meter on it eventually and I will bet money it will peak the meter (or break it!). It hurts my ears just listening to it over the speakers.

My good sir

What I posted you didn't read thoroughly. I said the newer rocket duo clean. I don't say the shark cordless ionflex version. I must say it's a sweet vacuum.
I have a early rocket, a newer rocket and 2 duo cleans. I'll try to find a decibel meter to prove or disprove my theory.
You don't even have to test yours it's louder.
I do want a rocket just like yours.
