I’m glad to see your parents finally picked a good vacuum cleaner.

Looks very good. The X series Sebo's don't deep clean as well as the new Dyson's and they are pretty poor on hard floors, but it will last forever and they are so easy to use.

Congratulations of the new Sebo Automatic X!
In my tests Dyson DC40 mkII can't come even close to Sebo Felix in deep cleaning.
Also the X-series should be excellent vacuum :)

congrats on the new Sebo

I think Sebo is one of the best vacuums, if not the best that is currently made. I know some don't like the X series because they don't think that the automatic adjustment works very well and that the machine doesn't clean deep enough. I think they make a series with a similar design but with a manual adjustment. I think the best upright Sebo makes is the Felix, I much prefer canister and central vacuums but I love my Felix.

I like my X series vacuums-they work quite well.Have the transparent demo model and its fun to watch the height adjust working! And you see the bag puff up inside the bag chamber! The transparent Sebos are for demo-but dealers sometimes sell them to collectors.Have the X4 and X7 machines. The X7 has a more powerful motor than the X4.They now use Filtrete style bags-better than the old paper bags. And have their canister machines-very nice.Have 4.

Your saying that like you think Dyson is not good. Dysons are good.

Dyson vs Sebo

Hi.

Dyson makes a nice hand dryer. The vacuums are not in the same performance class as Sebo X. Buy carpeting by the yard and throw it away by the pound. Philosophy has made James Dyson a very wealthy man!

To be honest,

That Dc41 MK2 has incredible pickup performance, and according to some reviewers on YouTube at least, the X series performance isn't as good as a sebo with an ET-1 powerhead.

The Dyson weakness is the brush roll with the 1 inch blindspot in the cleaning path, but that design is about 9 years old now and has since been replaced in markets outside of the US at least.

You guys really need to try a Dyson built during the last decade, and not judge your exceptions based off ones you may have used in the early 2000s. They, like others, have improved. Sebo's with the old powerhead weren't as good at deep cleaning as the newer ones. I know, our family have owned Sebo's since the 80s lol.

Sebo really need to re-design that X series. Spending nearly £300+ on a vacuum with a hose that doesn't reach to the top of the stairs and no brush-roll control for hard floors isn't really acceptable now. You can buy a Small Ball 2 for £200 in the UK now, with a 5 year guarantee. Who would have thought Dyson's are less expensive than bagged German machines but it is 2021 now, nothing is the same.

I actually prefer the older Dyson’s. I’ve had several including a Ball Multifloor 2. I sold it because I work at a vacuum store and I see so many Dyson’s in constantly jammed up and poorly performing. I get sick of working on these machines and people being brainwashed into thinking they’re the most amazing thing since sliced bread. For collectors like us they clean fine because we maintain them properly. But for the majority of consumers they only empty the bin and don’t even perform basic maintenance which is why the machines fail in performance.

I can only speak about the Sebo Felix with ET-1 vs Dyson DC40 mkII.
On the love pile carpets Dyson has amazing agitation and pick up.
However moving to the medium pile carpets DC40 mkII can't match the Sebo.
I don't know why, but it just can't.
