I got my Kirby Heritage II from a customer who donated it to the store I worked at. Brought it home later that day ratchet strapped to the back of my motorcycle.
Later went to a friend's shop got a new fill tube, belt&fan for it. Reassembled after putting it in the dishwasher with the wrong detergent that oxidized it green. Made this video with that here. I really have always loved the Heritage II and recently decided when a friend had asked me to polish their machine that I would take mine apart and do it side by side. I am now finally happy with how my Heritage II Looks. Will be doing a retrospective review at a later date. |

I have a Heritage II Legend and a Legend II—identical machines, except for their color schemes. For whatever strange reason, it struck me about a year ago to swap their bags so that the Heritage II sports the Legend II's red bag, while the Legend II is dressed out in the Heritage II's gray bag. I just like the look and I can put them back factory original in a matter of minutes, if I so desire. While I love them both, my favorite model of that series is the original Heritage with its orange bag. It just makes a very bold statement. When I first got my Heritage 1HD, I put a gray Heritage II bag assembly on it in lieu of the original orange dump bag and it just looked too blah. Of the three, the Heritage 1HD required the most restoration work but the outcome was most rewarding.

There's nozzles that have the BPI sensor. I don't know if the heritage 2 had it but I know the legend 2 had the BPI sensor. The brush roll with the BPI I like better similar to g series brush roll.
They all look good to me. The heritage line is awesome. The heritage 84 I have is my daily driver. I got an avalir hose with heritage end. I use the turbo brush with it. Nice fleet of vacuums. |
