I've wanted one of these since I started collecting, but I've never been able to find one. They must be getting rare. Not something I usually see in a thrift store or the garage sales. But the price is way way too high for me.

Is the hose on this original? I would think it's not, because the plug connection for the Power-Mate I thought should be direct connect and at the end of the curved handle. But if it is a replacement, they must have replaced the power nozzle's cord too, because otherwise it'd be too short.

Looks like most of the attachments are there, other than the dusting brush. But that shouldn't be TOO hard to find. The woodgrain stickers look a bit worn, not sure if they could be cleaned up or not.

The hose looks OEM and has matching wear with the rest of the vacuum. But it also looks like one of the old Eureka powered canister's hoses.

theyre not rare. if you get them away from fleabay the average price is $50 or less. its just simple ebay price gouging by rich collectors up bidding what really arent rare vacuums.

That is the correct hose for the model. It has the length (9- 10 feet) plus the suction control Kenmore had. I would say unit is probably from 1977- 78. The 1976 model's powermate had it own green dedicated wand and 2 separate wands.. I have this model and 3 of the Sears best power mates before they switched to Panasonic. Great machines. I just picked up early 80's Sears best - just. Missing crevice tool- for $10.00. That same model is on eBay for $200. - may meant to consider that one for less Money and being newer.

I believe the "6" in the model number indicates it's from 1976. But I think also this model would have the "Sears Best" sticker since it seems to have everything. But maybe it was removed at some point.

There was a later 1980ish version of this at Habitat a few years ago, but it was the beige with orange bumpers and it didn't have the power mate with it. I want the green model specifically. Either this one or the earlier metal based one that had the attachments on top.
