The manual for this vacuum describes the following in the screenshot:
So with that said, if it is the control valve cutting off suction or airflow, its allowing the motor to heat itself up and triggering the thermal protection safety switch.

There's no 'control valve' on the Classic. Remove the hose and bag and start the machine. Does it shut off? If yes, then the thermostat is bad. If no, the bag could be clogged or the hose. Drop a penny through the hose. Does it come out?
You can replace the thermostat easily or bypass it, which ever you choose. |

I have determined that the thermostat is bad. Do you possibly know how to bypass it? |

Levi, good for you for determining the thermostat is the problem. However, whatever you do, DO NOT BYPASS IT!
Why? Because with many vacuum motors installed in vacuums, the thermostat tripping could be a sign that the motor is drawing excessive current that it was not designed to run at and the motor is bad. If you bypass the thermostat, chances are good the motor could destroy itself, catch fire, and destroy the body of the vacuum. I would replace the thermostat and hope that works, but I would be counting on having to buy a new motor. Rob |

Yeah, definitely need to figure out if it’s the motor overheating or just a bad thermostatic switch. Aside from burning up the machine should it catch fire, that could be a real mess in your home. Jon |
