I have an absolutely immaculate Kirby Ultimate G Diamond Edition and the transmission is a little bit noisy when it is off and in neutral. I am thinking of just replacing the transmission because I know where I can get them brand new and cheap. My only question is that if I buy a new transmission, will I have to change out the gear that the belt goes on? I know that the earlier Kirby's used a different gear ratio so I don't know which ratio the Diamond Edition has. I'm hoping it's just a simple matter of swap wheels, swap the TechDrive pedal and just put it in the machine with nothing else to do.

I looked side by side a g6 and a sentria. The belt numbers are different but the belts are the same size.
Basically swap it out and the numbers may be different but it's outer shell is the same.
If your getting a new tech drive get a sentria 2 or newer tech drive.
