A few years ago, I actually owned two Miele canisters, a C1 basic budget cleaner and a more deluxe C3 unit. I had bought the C1 first and loved it so much, I decided to take advantage of a good deal on a C3 and get that one too. Eventually, I sold the C1 to a friend.

When I had the two at the same time, I wanted to compare the lengths of the cords, the wands and the hoses. Important to note that these two cleaners are suction only vacs with no power nozzles. Also important to note that nowhere was it advertised that the C3 offered a deluxe longer wand or a deluxe longer hose.

When I compared the two sets of equipment, the C3 indeed has a longer cord than the C1 - as indicated in the specs in the advertising. I can't remember if there was a difference in the hose length. But what was surprising to discover, was that one of the two vacs had a longer telescopic extension wand. Can't remember if that came with the C1 or the C3.

My question: does Miele package different canister/cylinder vacs with hoses and wands of differing lengths without advertising these details? To me, it would be beneficial for the buyer to know that certain models come with shorter hoses and wands.

Yes the c1/s2000 uses a shorter straight suction wand for packaging reasons.

There's also different hose lengths.
This is why it's important to go to the dealer where you can see those details in person.

I bought a little stainless steel adapter so I could use the more other non metric diameter tools.

Miele Tools

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to share this bit of info with you all regarding Miele tools particularly. A few years back, I started finding Miele canisters at GWs and various thrift stores. Many only had the hose and coincidentally, most of the machines I found were straight suction models.

Well, when I tried to source original Miele tools and attachments, from the most obvious sources (uh hem, uh hem) I received no real help and the prices were ridiculous! Since I have an account with a vac supplier, (they cannot get OEM parts for Miele since they are not an authorized dealer) I decided to order a set of Miele aftermarket attachments namely the dusting brush, crevice tool, library brush, floor/rug tool, upholstery brush, and even a converter to use 1 1/4" standard tools, and more. Let me tell you! I couldn't be more satisfied with the quality, design, and overall functionality of these items!

I am so glad I didn't spend the money on the OEM parts! YOU DON'T NEED THEM! Aftermarket parts are more than fine! And, the price was right at only about $22! Naturally, this was my cost, but still, Even if I sold them for retail, for about $ 35-40 depending on the pieces chosen, You can't beat it! The plastic material was just as good if not better. Who needs the OEM attachments? And at their prices? As they say, "It's a no brainer"!

@sanitaire I have that same adapter. Make sure you turn it down to the ear👂 setting. That smaller fitting restricts airflow you don't want to burn out your motor.

@sanitaire Yes, just look for their logo on the bottom of your floor tool.
