I wish it was just Goodwill jacking up their prices, but it's an issue across the shipping industry. It's all based on box size, not weight. Weight factors in a little, but not much. FedEx's shipping calculator was broken for me when I checked recently, but for UPS I could put in a 60" x 12" x 12" box and the shipping price stayed within a range of around $110 to $200 for the slowest shipping option from Michigan to Washington, with the weight varying from 1 pound to 150 lbs!
