Hi guys, very long time no see! think my last post was 6 or 7 years ago?

Becoming self employed in property development has left little time for my former hobbies such as vacuum collecting, but its something I'm getting back into. I've had my trusty Sebo E3 Premium for a couple of years now after replacing a Felix from 2012 which was then donated to a friend in need of a vacuum. The E3 is basically perfect in every way in my eyes.

I'm really not one for cordless vacuums, thinking that the battery technology, while its improved a lot in recent years, still has some way to go before they can replace a good corded vacuum completely.

The Lupe obviously focuses on quality, longevity and repairability which is severely lacking in many tech and home appliance products these days, so it already has a charm unto itself.

Anyway, I received my Lupe only this morning. Here are a link to the photos (rather than me closing up the thread, so let me know if this worked or not)

To be frank, my carpet it very unforgiving. Its very dense and classed as medium to high piled. Only the Sebo's E3 powerhead can properly clean and groom it. The Lupe, on its default medium power setting does NOT groom it like the Sebo does. I think a major reason is the head which keeps lifting up as I push it along, which feels like its the hose at the head not lose enough and allowing the powerhead to conform to the surface its on.

Another reason could be to do with the counter-rotating brush bar, meaning you kind of have to vacuum in the opposite direction to what you're used to.

On high-power, the suction is fantastic and it really does groom the carpets, with incredible agitation which shakes the particle before they are vacuumed, however this isn't plausible to vacuum homes with wall to wall carpets like mine, which are again becoming more popular these days. Not sure what the time rating on high-power is, but it cant be anymore than 15 minutes.

The brusher is decently stiff, kind of the same feeling as a Dyson V11 nylon brush-bar.

Hard-floor cleaning seems to be faultless, and the overall build quality is something to be admired. They are made in China, but Lupe make a point of saying they are built in a Swiss owned factory "Ryder."

Everything fits together beautifully and the attachment set is first-class, with both brushes incredibly soft. Nothing feel loose, and the wand part of the handle is aluminium.

Its quieter on medium power than I thought, although high power it has a high-pitched scream, which sounds very similar the the Dyson V series.

The picture of the filter here is after I quickly did the entire house, so it seems very efficient, and everything comes apart easily for cleaning or replacing any parts.

Ill update this thread as and when I introduce it to different types of flooring in my boyfriend mother house lol.

The nozzle design of the Lupe it's pretty bad from the pictures and video I've seen.

The brush roller looks weak.
Counter rotating rollers have never worked well.
The suction hose is in a very strange spot.
The machine is bagless and underpowered as per the usual arrangement.
Lupe acts like a sketchy company when you contact them.

Thanks for sharing your pictures and disappointment.

Disappointed so far would sum it up, although the brush-bar isn't weak. It's actually very affective, and agitates better than any cordless I have used, but if only it wasn't counter rotating.

The brush-bar being in the middle of the floored isn't great for edge cleaning if you aren't using the side of the head against what you're trying to edge-clean.

It is on offer for £500 GBP reduced from £750. It isn't worth £500. Maybe £250 at a push.

After using it on short to medium piled carpet at my partners house, this is what came up.

Lots of fine dust, despite a Sebo Felix being used.

I think the hose on the floor head being stiff is a big reason it doesn’t clamp down on the floor like it should. Probably going to attempt to break it in with a hair dryer and stretching it slightly.

Other than that, I think I am becoming more and more impressed. There is something to be said for its shape and size, and being able to do hard floors and carpets by flicking a switch, as well as all the tools being onboard.

I’ll try and do a video of some rice for I show the agitation, because it’s brilliant.

Let us know what you think of the Lupe as you go along. I want to get this but at $715 including shipping to the US, I am not ready to take that much of a chance on a new design from a new company and I suspect many here in the US will feel the same way.

I also would have like to have seen a mini turbo brush too. How the heck do you clean carpeted stairs with this machine? You cannot attach the handle directly to the floor nozzle, the brush tool they supply is straight suction and does not rotate either so it’s not powerful enough to dig into stairs carpeting for deep cleaning.

It's currently on offer for £500, thought thought would have taken effect USD as well?

To be honest, its light enough to take the handle off and pick the whole thing up to use on stairs. Its not perfect, its cumbersome but it works. Ive used Sebo's like it.

Mini power bruhs would be great but they could easily produce one and make it available at a later date, which is the point of this machine.

I do like it. Its generally very well designed and refined to use.

If it was $500 here I would buy it, but sadly it’s not after exchange rate and shipping it’s over $700 here in the US. Good to hear that it is a good unit and I do like the brushroll design because, it’s good for carpets and bare floors.
