I've noticed some older metal vacuums had a sticker bearing the Steelmark logo, which was for the American Iron and Steel Institute (later adopted by the Pittsburg Steelers). I think this logo meant to signify that true American steel was used in the construction of these vacuums, typically during the 1970s.

What all brands bore this logo?

I know of:

Sunbeam
General Electric (and later Premier/Whirlwind)
Eureka

I haven't heard of or seen any Hoovers with this logo however

Any others?

Kirby endorsed Alcoa aluminum in the mid 60's, I have seen many Kirby's with the sticker on the side of the machine just below the switch.

Interesting, I didn't know about Kirby having that.

This is the sticker that was on the side of Kirby's around 1960. It was stuck on the motor housing, just below the step on switch. This sticker was removed and stuck on the attachment box.

I've seen it on Shetland-Lewyt canisters from the late 60's/early '70's.

I've seen it on the old "oil drum" style early Shop-Vacs made by Shop Vac, Sunbeam, Pow-R-Vac, etc...
