The only Bissell I have is 82h1. It's really beat up and it needs a new Handle Release, hose, lower hose, belt, brushroll, and height adjust plate. Maybe even an entirely new base assembly altogether? I do agree that the newer Bissells are shitty with poor build quality.

I have a 1995 Lift Off 11 amp model. It's kind of plasticky and clunky but pretty good quality. I just finished cleaning it up recently. I like how it has two motors.

Some of the newer Bissells I still like. I think the bagged models are quite good, especially the Powerforce for the price. Some of the bagless, especially the basic ones with the foam filters were a mess to clean out although not bad to use.

Currently I don't have any bissell in my collection and I usually have bad luck with them mostly they're bagless cleanviews and bagless powerforces but they're bagged powerforces and PowerGlides are alright for the price at the time and you can upgrade them with hepa bags which is great. There are bissells that I do want to get like the Prolite which is like a singer twin fan and a oreck had a baby and came out with this and also the original bissell plus/bagged lift offs because they're very quirky machines be it not the best since they suffered problems with the power head but they're pretty nice.

Sweepmaster

No Bissells here but when I was a little kid, we had a Bissell Sweepmaster similar to the one in the link below. It made the rounds in the family over the years, but sadly never to me. My parents passed it to my grandmother and then my sister ended up with it. The last time I saw it was at her vacation home in western N.C. and that's been a few years ago.

Yes

I currently have a Bissell Plus. The only other Bissells I'd get are odd ones, or a Prolite (which I've been trying to purchase for a WHILE), and a pure air style machine. All other Bissells aren't of my interest.

Thanks, Garrett

Yes but these were actually made by Ryobi, they've not only had them under the Bissell and Singer names but also under the Kenmore brand as well.

I had a Bissell like the OP's; bought it new in 2014. It was the purple rewind model. The winder pretty much gave up at the end of the year. I cleaned it out and regularly replaced filters. It still blew clouds of dust. It went in the trash a few years later.
Older Bissells? I have 2 different Singer soft shells, can post a pic in a bit. Both work real nice, got one from a collector on eBay. I have some newer ones too, such as the powergroom helix, but they aren't really worth mentioning. I know a guy who has a Pureair for sale, but it is missing I believe the fan case and maybe other stuff.

I believe these are the only 2 I have. Both are NIB and most likely won’t get used until the kenmore I have craps out. I have had many many Bissells over the years and their products have always been good for the price. They are marketed towards the budget friendly people, and are just that, a budget friendly machine. Yes they have had some turds over the years but what company didn’t?when someone mentioned Bissell back on the 90s the only 2 machines I could only really think of were the little and big green clean machines.

I had...

A power force bagged about 19 years ago. Found it on someone’s trash, the cord haddock broken off right by where it went into the machine. The cord was with it. I took it soaker and required the cord in losing only about 6 inches or so. It worked fine but I didn’t feel like it fluffed the carpet as well as the Hoover windtunnel I already had. It was relatively quiet and lightweight though and tools were not all that user friendly. I gave it to a friend who had two stories for an upstairs vac. He seemed to like it but he passed away a few years after with sudden cancer. He didn’t stay in touch with me after he came down with cancer more aggressively after many attempts I made leaving messages on his answering machine as he may have become depressed. Then I got an email from his best friend that he had passed.

Anyway it was ok for a $39 Wal mart vacuum originally.

My partners parents bought a lift off upright back in 2007 or 8 and it’s still going. Their daughter has it now and I’ve cleaned it out thoroughly and replaced the belt to tune it up about a year ago. The main switch is starting to act up and the handle tilt lock is getting worn but it’s still cleaning. I like it at times and hate it at others. Hate that it’s bagless and that it’s heavy and also when one wants to use it as a canister it falls over and the stretchy hose makes that an issue. Otherwise it seems to have held up considering it’s a “plastivac” and has seen quite a bit of use and abuse. The turbo tool upholstery and stair brush has disappeared though, it had one the storage spot is there and likely it fell off and broke as it was not in a good spot to avoid it being in the way and getting knocked off frequently.

Someone gave me a bissell full size carpet Cleaning machine, didn’t work right because of several broken cheap plastic parts so I just chucked it and when I finally needed to buy one got a Hoover Steam vac original design and is much better quality. Still have it.

Jon
