Lubricate a Royal 89130C from 1997. Is it required?

I notice a small hole at the back of the housing covering the motor that looks in line with the motor shaft, but I'm not sure if I would have to lubricate it there by dropping oil in the hole with that end up.

I'm probably just imaging this, but it would be nice to know. I also can't find an owners manual, which might be helpful for this and other ideas.

I also wonder if I can lubricate the brush bar bearings. It looks like they are not meant to be disassembled or oiled. I would hate to have it fail just for lack of lubrication, or to over stress the motor or belt.

Thanks for any assistance.

Thank you, but I don't know how to ask Ben Edge. I can't find him in the membership list.

Ben edge.
Take a pic. I think you might have a drop in motor. If you do you don't have to lubricate. The place you mention is. Rivet holding the bottom bearing of the armature.

@grant if the Royal requires oil they'll be a little red cap on top of the part that you need to oil. I have to say I think by that time they went to sealed ball bearings.

Here's a video of my 1980s Royal with the oiler hole that I'm talking about.
