Run the machine without the dust bin attached, and see if the noise is the same. If the noise is gone, you likely have a clog some place. If not, I would wager it's a problem with the brush roll. I cannot recall if these units have a separate motor for the brush. Perhaps also try running it with the brush removed and see if the noise is still present.

I know about the Bissell power force. I've owned a few.
My symphony has no belt. The shop vac of Bissell has one with brush roll one without. European vacuum's don't use power nozzles. They use air driven attachments. Thanks for the lesson but I already know everything you posted. There is a few Bissell without a belt for the power brush. He came across acting like madman is stupid. I don't like people who post like that. . Antoine you seem bothered by my posts. I joke around. I also don't like people who be better than or be little another member. He could have worded his post differently. I could have but I wanted my point to hit home. If you want my advice on the vacuum I'd say the motor is burned up and throw it away. I do think they have really great styling. I just wish they wouldn't shove a geo metro motor in a sports car chassis. You can rebuttal but I'll not jump in unless someone crosses the line. Les |

Here is some pics. You will notice their is a brush roll. You will see no belt. It uses cylindrical force from one of its 2 motors. The brush roll pulls 150 Cfm's.
Its an air driven Brush roll exactly what I said. Maybe Antoine look up Kenmore elite I'm attaching pics and you will notice IM NOT wrong. Bissell has 2 vacuums similar to this. When testing my knowledge don't use basic vacuum logic. |

Les, I just mean to educate you better on your vacuum, not to argue. The direct drive badge on that Kenmore Elite means that they put the motor inside the brushroll. I'm not completely sure how it was done but if you take the brushroll out and take off the end caps you will see little carbon brushes for the motor. I used to have one of those Elites, they work great!
Thanks, Garrett |
