They sold them for a brief period of time - the DC07 was just on the verge of being launched.

Remove the Zorb dispenser and the DC04 is a very, very powerful vacuum cleaner.

The cleaner that doesn't lose suction. The purple is gorgeous. My favorite color in my favorite shade.

Dry cleaning is very underappreciated. If you have an actual cleaning machine, like that Dyson with the cyclone removed, it's almost always better than residential "wet" shampooers. I use an Oreck Orbiter and then a DC14 to vacuum it up. Zorb isn't bad but Host and Capture are very good. You may have to lay a few treatments down before the carpet looks completly clean, but I'll take it over dumping out dirty water anyday.
That's a great looking DC04! The youtube vids I've seen make it out to be very powerful. The early 2000s Dysons are probably one of the few of that era future collectors will be glad to seen saved. |

The only issue with early 2000s Dysons is Sir Thomas Dyson didn't want them saved, by not protecting the plastic with a stabilizer compound. I have a DC07 and it's just going to pieces every time I touch it. I tripped over the front housing and it just snapped it off completely. They are super super delicate.

I’m thinking the bagless version of the Kenmore dry capture carpet system was also a Dyson Design. I could be wrong. I literally pulled this out of the trash last weekend.

What a wonderful find. Yes, Dyson did design that machine for Iona (who would go on to manufacture the Fantom) to be sold at Sears.
The most interesting thing about your new machine is that it's a dirty air system. The motor runs either forward or backward depending upon what it is doing. When vacuuming, the dirt is drawn through the fan and blown into the cyclone. Proving that one could in fact make a dual cyclone "Kirby" if you will. Congratulations on finding a very rare piece of Dyson history. |

The Capture works very well with your Dry Tech. I've found it best to also buy the Capture pre-mist. It's important for the powder to stay moist as the machine is scrubbing it in. I pre-spray the carpet about a yard by a yard long before I begin, then when I've done that yard of carpet, I stop and pre-spray the next portion. Let us know when you give it a try.
