I hope you end up getting that! I really like the retro look of those. I almost had one once and something happened and the seller cancelled the auction and decided not to sell it. Go figure! Let us know if you end up with it!!

Steve

"Rug U Laton" lol thanks goodwill

These are really cool little throwback vacuums and really rare, I hope to get one too. I have a entirely chrome salesman's Eureka from the late 60s or 1970s so that's good enough for me for now.

It's pickup only. It's a very sweet vacuum.

Damn!

Well I tried to get it, but somebody outbid. That thing was so cool! I guess I gotta wait a couple more years.

Also,

regularrett69's profile picture

It's' SO annoying how some will just bid $1 more than you on an auction. And in your head you just know that when you look around for a little more money to raise your highest bid, they will already have another dollar to bid. That's not how it works!

Thank you, Garrett

They dont

lesinutah's profile picture
Outbid you by a dollar. You put a Max bid and it comes out a dollar over Max bid.

Bid history

regularrett69's profile picture

I looked at the bid history and it showed that they bid $26, then 27.02 because I had a bid on $26. It's cool to know that there are collectors in my area though!

Thanks, Garrett

It only shows auction highest bid.
There are lots of collectors near you.

It was not me!

You just have to keep your finger on the trigger when it gets down to the wire. Most collectors seem to use shopgoodwill now, but I don't because I hate their freight shipping. $20 to ship a hand vac.

Me

I expressed interest in it. If they would ship I could've bid on it.

It's back!

regularrett69's profile picture

Well... its time for my chance again. I've got a higher price to pay now, and am ready to counter any bids when the auction ends. I'd assume the other highest bidder just didn't pay for it and now it's for sale again. Me and my friend are pretty excited!

Good luck! I'm surprised it took so long to re-list it. It's been almost 2 months.

Ha!

regularrett69's profile picture

I guess the world wanted me to have this vacuum. I won the re-auction of it, and I'm happy! I have to get some vacs shipped to their new owners, so I have money to pay for it! It's not like I have a real job or something...

Thanks, Garrett

Pickup

regularrett69's profile picture

This is the final chapter to the story. I went and picked it up today, and gave it a deep clean. It's stunning! It has so much suction that even on the high pile carpet setting (I have low pile carpet) it's hard to push. The amazing looks make up for that though. I decided to see what it looked like without the middle handle piece, and it looks like a cute little deep cleaner like that. Here's some pictures!

Best regards, Garrett

I love how they made the classic Eureka Williams “E” so prominent on this retro vac! That logo really represents an important part of North American vacuum cleaner history. And if you look at the symbol sideways, you see the “W” for Williams.

Of course I’m biased, but for me that “E” always represented a high quality cleaner designed and produced in the USA. It has the same meaning for me as the old GE logo, or the old Westinghouse “W” logo or the old GM logo or the old Kodak “K” logo.

Such a shame it’s all just history now...like so much of North America’s manufacturing heritage.
