My honest recommendation is to go to a vac shop and see if they have anything used they could sell you. Your price range for anything new I believe would leave you with the box store products that you already have had a poor experience with. |

Get a dependable lightweight German-made Miele canister with a turbo brush for your area rugs. Quiet, powerful, great filtration, and a wide assortment of optional tools. If you want a German-made canister vac with an extra-long 40-foot cord, get a suction-only Sebo D1 canister. It’s got a huge bag and also lots of optional accessories including a turbo brush for your area rugs. Add a cordless Swiffer Vac to the Miele or Sebo canister for quick everyday pickups - an amazing little electric broom for only $50!!! :-)

A Eureka Mighty Mite would do the job but they have plastic wheels which would scratch hardwood or luxury vinyl plank floors. A Simplicity Jill would also do the job. The Perfect C105 would be my top recommendation for your price range. But my overall recommendation for a budget straight suction canister vacuum would either be the Miele C1 Classic Pure Suction or the NaceCare James JVP180.

Thanks for all the info. Decided to spend a little more money and went with the Miele C1 Turbo Team. Miele has 20% off all vacuums right now so it was 319.00. Getting delivered today and honestly excited to get it out of the box and put it to work. |
