Hello! New to the forums here looking for some help finding a part for my Kenmore Progressive model 216.37100700. Purchased this machine on an online auction as the progressive series of vacuums are some of my favorite. However, upon getting the vacuum it appears that the brush roll, belt, and bottom plate are all missing (other than that the machine is in pretty good shape!). The belt and brush roll seem easy to get however im having a bit of a problem finding a place I can buy that bottom plate, the part # is 237311000.

I seemed to have checked everywhere one would look, but I can't seem to find it! If anyone knows where to get such an item please let me know! (im willing to buy it from someone privately if that's what it takes).

-Thanks!
Bluecube

I think the best thing is to look out for a similar model to use for parts, or keep watch on eBay. This model along with a few others, I believe was made by Phone-Mate, hence (216) and not the more typical Panasonic (116), which might be part of the reason parts are scarce.

Well judging by the photos, I found the same ones on the same websites where you found them, so it looks like you covered your search pretty well. Kenmore vacuums for whatever reason are hard to find parts for (their model numbers are a string of gibberish and that doesn't help either).

I would call up every local vacuum shop for as far as you are willing to drive and ask them if they have that part in their inventory, (or the whole vacuum itself). If you find the whole vacuum you can use the new one like you wanted and then this one you just bought you can use for a parts donor.

Thanks for the info!

I was able to find a slightly more well known bagless vacuum from Phone-mate and crossed referenced the part numbers as they have the exact same cleaner head. New parts are on their way now!

Thanks for the help!

(For future reference the similar model is the Kenmore Durapower model
#21637040800)

Yeah these Kenmores weren't very common, I remember that these didn't sell for very long. I actually own one of these and I was MORE than lucky enough to find one near in MINT condition. I really like these machines, in fact I like it more than my blue Progressive Inteliclean model that I also own.

In my eyes, everything in the progressive line were fantastic machines! I May be slightly biased though as I had an old bagless progressive made by Panasonic as my childhood vac.

I'd like to get one of these types of vacuums some time. I'd like the twin chamber version though. Is this the one that was on shopgoodwill a couple of weeks ago?

Thank you, Garrett

Hi Garrett!

Indeed it was the one on goodwill auctions, Its actually a really good place to find interesting vacuums if you keep your eyes peeled! The twin chamber model does look really cool too, I didn't even know of its existence until I looked into other Phone-Mate machines.

Cool! Glad you were able to find parts. I've seen a few of these Phone-Mate style Kenmores around but I don't have any experience with them. The Panasonic made models seem a lot more common.
