I have a rainbow now but don't really use it much. I'm thinking about getting a Miele or Riccar canister. What are your thoughts? Other options? |

Riccar is a good canister. Riccar has a lot of sister vacs.
Miele is probably the best canister out there. It's got lots of filters. It's got a great docking station for the bag. Titan canister is a very good vacuum. Tom gasko/dysonman had a thread on it back in March. It's cheaper than miele and is really good bang for the buck. |

How much weight does CRI carry? Is it worth it to purchase a vacuum with a gold or silver rating? I see where the Riccar power team tandem air is a gold rating but I have no clue about Riccar quality or longevity. |

I LOVE my Miele C3 cannister for wood floors and "above ground" cleaning/dusting. I prefer an upright for carpets... Sebo Felix (although I'm drooling to get an X7). I do have a Miele U1 upright that is great except it is TOO HEAVY. |

I was surprised to hear of your Rainbow parts breaking...having only bought in 2017! I've had mine ,new, since 2012 and nothing has broken. I like it a good deal....but its not the most convienant canister...having to fill and empty the water even if you only needed a 'quick pickup' of debris. I do enjoy my royal and Electrolux and Filter Queens for my hardwood floors....easy to use for a quick spill. The rainbow is for a whole house cleaning ( especially dusting!)

I did have my Miele height adjuster break on my power nozzle about 6 months into ownership and it was fixed under warranty. The shop said they really had not seen that issue before. |

I bought a new Miele C3 Marin in April and I LOVE it! In my opinion its worth every penny, its fairly quiet, it filters amazingly well, and it has lots of power. I love the parquet twister floor brush and I think the 236 power nozzle is one of the best cleaning nozzles out there. It grooms, lifts, and vibrates the carpet just like any good upright. If you use your vacuum to dust and clean above the floor be sure to buy the adjustable universal tool SUB20, its great for dusting and cleaning ceiling fan blades. I was torn between the Brilliant and the Marin, my last vacuum had the controls on the handle, but the buttons to adjust the suction are large and easy to tap and I couldn't justify the extra $400 just for having the controls in the handle. The canister glides across the floor and moves in every direction, after using an Electrolux forever its amazing how easily maneuverable the Miele is around the house.

I picked up the SEBO D4 yesterday. I like it and it seems to really dona good jobs of picking up dirt. Time will tell but it's very convenient over the rainbow. Air flow seems to be a little higher on the SEBO. |
