I have the turbo brush. It is a straight suction machine. I love it but I have to use an old Dyson (ew) as that's the only thing that gets it up. Is there a battery-powered head available? Thanks!

go for a Hoover WindTunnel turbo brush (powered hand tool) (pre-TTI version is better) & use with a shop vacuum

Or U can use a Wessel Werk HEB160 mini PN & PN cord that connects onto wall electrical outlet

Is it a Miele canister? If it is, it's possible there is an optional electrical outlet on the body of the canister to upgrade your hose to an electrified hose so that you can buy a Miele power nozzle.

Just replace your bagless Dyson with a high performing Hoover Windtunnel Max bagged upright - it's only $250 in Canada so should be cheaper in the USA. Very good performance on carpeting and easy to dump dust bag, according to Consumer Reports....see the link below

You can ask dysonman1 (Tom Gasko) or Greg Palmer about the perfect battery powered power head. I love mine and use it almost daily with my central vac. It’s a very rugged head based off the old L shaped electrolux heads. Another option for air driven is the Wessel Werk TK-286 turbine head, it’s a good head and I feel it performs better than the MIele turbine heads. Your Miele is a good performer, just needs a little help.

Blanking plate?

If you’re talking about the small plastic cover next to the hose inlet on the body of the machine, it’s removable on most Miele canisters and you’ll find the electric contacts for a electric hose underneath. Miele tends to cover those up on their straight suction canisters.

It all depends on the model.

Which canister model do you have?

Easy answer...

The Accu Nova head! I wonder why nobody mentioned this. It should be a good price now, and it cleans good. It's made by Miele and is rechargeable. Standard Miele fitting. I haven't looked into them much, but they should be a low price.

Accu Nova power head is no longer available..

They retired it in 2015. That’s probably why no one mentioned it. The batteries were not reliable and are proprietary to Miele so they’re hard to find as replacements. But if one is lucky enough to find it “new old stock”, then go for it.

Aerus/Electrolux

Get an Aerus or Electrolux. New are expensive but plenty of used ones ion eBay. If you want new, then sell the Miele on eBay to recover that cost.

Never had an issue with cleaning anything with these machines for all my life and I cleaned for a lady who had 3 cats and a shedding dog and suede couches And tweed fabric chairs that were like pet hair magnets. Durable, powerful, yet gentle on upholstery and carpet as the brush bristles are high quality, unlike cheap stiff plastic bristles that do clean ...but also damage the material on other brands.

Just my opinion.

Jon

Sounds like you definitely have the wrong Miele for your flooring type.
I explain those certain nozzles in this video.
Good news is there will be a battery powered EBK-360 coming out at the end of the year if you really want to retrofit that instead of just getting the proper Miele.

Wow!!! A new battery powered cordless Miele power nozzle??? Can’t wait to see that!!!! It’s such a logical development considering all the cordless stick vacs that have excellent powered floor heads. If Numatic can power a full-size canister with a battery, surely Miele can add a decent cordless power nozzle to their array of optional accessories. Looking forward to a review as soon as this arrives to market!!! 🙂

battery powered nozzles

There are already two good battery powered nozzles on the market, the Volt, also known as the Hide a Hose CX1000, and the Perfect battery powered nozzle which is very similar to Electrolux power nozzles. These would be good for any straight suction canister or for a central vacuum that does not have an electric hose. They will clean far better than any turbine nozzle. Each one has some advantages and disadvantages. The CX1000 has a headlight and also has a dirty air fan although I don't think that makes much difference, most hose cleaners already provide enough suction and airflow. One disadvantage of this nozzle is that it uses a rubber belt. The Perfect nozzle uses a longer lasting belt and it's very easy to swap out the battery for more cleaning time.

My floor is mainly hardwood so that's why I opted for a straight suction model. It is a Complete C2
