I'm guessing you were attempting to emulate the styling of the 2000s stainless steel model?

Kudos on the painting effort. But....if you don't have one yet, find the retro Connie....WONDERFUL machine. Personally, I like the painted one over the stainless. Kevin |

I’m one of the few that doesn’t mind deviating from the factory colors of a vacuum! I took a Golden Jubilee model 1205 Electrolux that was rusted and in horrible shape and let my daughter pick out the colors.....unique, but she is proud of it, and it’s something we did together!
Just out of curiosity, what colors did you use? |

Yeah, I think I remember this one. Very '50s. I have to admit that at one point, shortly after I got it, I considered painting my Super J burgundy. I even went so far as to Photoshop a picture of it to get an idea of what it might look like and posted the results to this forum. The gold just seemed so garish at the time but I've since come to appreciate it as an artifact its era.

That's correct! We created this years ago, when my daughter was like 6 years old (she will be 10 at the end of this month). She absolutely loved it, and that old vac is still going strong all these years later. Most people liked it, but I do recall there were some that didn't seem to care much about the color change, LOL!
I really like his color change on the constellation though, it made it look even more retro! |
