I ordered a Patriot through Kyle (cleanairhybrid) and it arrived today. I got the hybrid machine with the touch screen just because when I buy something I like all the options :-) I chose the Sebo ET-1 powerhead rather than the Wessel Werk as I had a Miele Capricorn with the Wessel Werk so I wanted to try something different. I also ordered the Wessel Werk mini power nozzle and the closed top bags (6 of the open style Stormy bags came standard with the machine as well). Kyle was very nice and pleasant to work with. I asked him a lot of questions through many, many emails and he was kind enough to answer everything thoroughly until I was satisfied and decided to go ahead with the purchase. I think I got a fantastic deal . The vacuum was shipped from California last Fri. and arrived this morning. I was surprised that it went through customs and got across the border so quickly since Covid seems to have slowed up most deliveries.
I just vacuumed the main floor of my house which is mostly carpet but has bare floors in the kitchen, bathroom and entrance way. The ET-1 works great...pulled itself along like it was self propelled and grooms the carpet very well. It has 4 manual height adjustments with 1 being lowest and 4 highest. I set the height based on the instructions and that resulted in using position 3. I wasn't sure about the curved wand setup but it works well. This machine has a lot of power...more than any other vacuum I have owned. I think the Aerus Guardian Platinum will be put away for awhile. Compared to the Guardian's whiny power nozzle, the ET-1 is almost silent. It is also quieter than the Wessel Werk that was with the Miele Capricorn. I like the ET-1 because it has the L-shaped nozzle which is great for getting around table legs, etc. It is just a bit narrower than the Guardian's power nozzle so it lets me get in places where I couldn't go with the Guardian nozzle. The 6 wheels on the canister body make it very easy to manoeuvre and it spins around on a dime. I am not fond of pistol grip hose handles but this one is smaller than any others I have used. I do find that the motor gives off a lot of heat, more than any other vacuum I have. Here's a few pics. I love the purple colour. Gary |

Sounds like you have a nice new canister cleaner. The Sebo ET1 and ET2 power nozzles are probably the best power heads available. How many different models of vacuum does this company make and what do they generally sell for? Mike |

Kyle is a GREAT guy and so nice. He and his husband visited and had dinner with myself and my husband a few weeks ago. Kyle brought the Patriot, and gave a through demonstration. I was so impressed.
While I have a wonderful 15 year old Patriot, the new model has even more power due to it's new motor. Kyle is definitely 'the man' when it comes to the Patriot. Kyle is bringing the new Patriot to the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Convention just two weeks away. I thought everyone would want to see it. Kyle is donating a number of Patriot items to our raffle. |

Awesome, I can't wait to check out that machine, does it use an Ametek motor or something else? What about the bags, are they similar to Tristar? Mike |

Billy,
Kyle assures me that the unit running warm is not a problem so I will take his word for it. One of the advantages is it will help with the heating of the house in the winter...not so great in the summer heat though LOL It runs quieter with the filter in place so I wouldn't want to not use it. The unit is stable with the 6 wheels and like I said, it spins on a time which is great when in tight quarters. Electromatik, With the filter the unit is 22" in length...exactly the same as the Aerus Guardian Platinum which I also own...so the length is not an issue. Not having a cord winder, while nice to have, is not an issue for me. Everyone has their own preferences, likes & dislikes. Mike, The bags are similiar to Tristar...just the top flap is a different shape. The standard bag is open topped but I elected to go with the optional closed top bags. The bags are paper. Gary |

Hello everyone,
I appreciate the great feedback good and bad. I always like to hear real world use and tips / tricks with our machines. For those who asked, yes, we use an American made Ametek motor. Our bag design is similar to the tristar IEC designs of the past and current CS model. We use a cardboard topper for better alignment and bag positioning with the more powerful motors. Our lab testing is done on site in our research labs in California and several videos of the Anaheim F.D. smoke bombs being deployed into various machines are available. I have included my web site, it is under the videos section if anyone would like to see; Some are older machines, some still current going through the test. I am proud to say like 'Kirby' our machine is made 100% in the USA, and we are giving jobs to people here and supporting our local business owners and suppliers. We try to make a long lasting product that ticks as many boxes as we can, and there is always room for improvement. I am always happy to field questions via email as well. Warmest regards and thanks, Kyle M sales@air-lion.com CLICK HERE TO GO TO cleanairhybrid's LINK

Does it use the same type of hose as the older Tristar cleaners? Also, is the hose end that is used for cleaning standard, that is, is it the standard size for attachments and is the electrical connection the standard two mini prong connector? Mike |

Already commented on a facebook group but again it's a lovely looking machine. It's good to see Patriot getting some love, they're really nice machines.
I do have to wonder though Hypothetically if the Screen, or the board controlling it rather were to fail, would the vacuum be able to run or would it require a replacement of the board? Anyways, I've got the previous Generation, the P3, which to my knowledge uses the same motor, but mine is one of the "mechanical" versions meaning it doesn't have the screen just has this plate that resembles a screen. It also didn't come with hose wand or powerhead so those aren't the stock parts attached to it. I also had an older patriot a number of years ago. I was never too fond of the ET-C nozzle it just did not groom well. |

n0oxy,
Yes uses the same type of hose as the older Tristar/Compact cleaners and yes it has the standard size hose end. It also has the 2 prong connection for the power nozzle. Blackheart, Hmmm, good question about the board failing. I will have to ask Kyle. I have had both a Miracle Mate (which had the same style of power nozzle shown in your 1st pic) and a Vortech Force which are similiar in design. The Patriot has more power than either one of them and manoeuvres better because of the 6 wheel design. Gary |

It should be noted that like the old compact/tristars the button lock is in a non standard location meaning it will not lock into most wands. it is still a standard 1.25 connection so friction fit tools will work fine. I changed the stub tube in my hose over to a more standard connection so that I could use other wands, unfortunately this meant I could not use any of the proprietary curved wands but for the sake of versatility it was worth it (for me at least)
Going back to the board question i'm sure it's not something you really need to worry about, i was just curious if it was essential to the operation in units that had them. Ah yes, airflow wise it's one of the strongest canisters i've used definitely stronger the the miracle mate platinum from that perspective though i've never used a vortech before. I've seen them for sale but never tried one. |
