Hi, hope everyone is playing safe.

What are the 4 pins on a Vortex motor used for. My connector has 3 wire to it and when plugged in, the motor runs. The black wire is supposed to engage the circuit board to change the motor speed. The motor speed is stuck on high.

I am concerned the connection points in the connector are aligning up to the wrong pins on the motor.
If I knew what each pin on the motor controls, maybe I can alter my connector to make the speed control work.

PLEASE HELP.

Generally if the motor is stuck on high I would say the rheostat itself isn't lined up with the body or if it's a push button model you probably need a new main board.
This sort of situation so rare that you really would want to have the parts on hand to be able to narrow it down.

I appreciate that....

But I am on my second board/harness. Everyone can't be bad. It is as though I am bypassing the speed controller.

I will call a store in San Antonio, there is a guy who has worked on these for 20+ years.

Each pin on the motor must correspond to a function. I will post the results on here for everyone.

Ciao!

@fantomfan57 That was a pretty relevant fact to withhold when asking.
There is a secondary trizact board that those four pins go to it's not available separate and you would change the whole motor in that case.

Still a partial mystery

Spoke to the gentleman who told me the 4th pin on all Miele Vortex motors is a dummy. ?

Today, I changed the cord on the cord reel. No change at all. "Grasping for straws".

I am at a loss.

Ciao!
