No, not referring to those elites, though I did see a Preferred Elite at one of my Goodwills. I'm about talking the Windtunnels that had "Preferred" in their names along with the Windtunnel Name. They'd usually be silver in color.

I have never seen these before. Where they sold exclusively through a certain retailer? Or was there anything else that set then apart other than the color and name?

These were sold exclusively to Lowes Home Improvement stores in 2003 until somewhere in 2005. They also made a preferred version of the SteamVac Dual v too.

Think the Twin Chamber Preferred Windtunnel had a teflon filter in it. I also think the Preferred Canister and Self Propelled had hepa bags. Don't know if the Preferred Dual V came with that bag chamber.

These were sold exclusively through Lowe's Hardware stores.

There were a few models, I believe they had a two year warranty as well. All of them had that sparkling glitter gray color.

The Windtunnel Preferred canister was model S3641. It was the same build as the Translucent blue Windtunnel Plus S3639 canister that was sold at various other retailers, each having Brush roll on/off switch on gas pump hose and the air turbine tool storage built into the lid for covered tool storage.

Guessing these had "preferred" in their names because alot of people preferred Hoover's Windtunnel Vacuums at the time.

Also "Preferred" might mean it was equipped with all the bells and whistles and premium goodies. The sparkle decoration in the logo makes me think this was meant and sold as a premium vacuum.
