As some know, I recently purchased my first home. Although I'm nowhere close to moved in, my several month lease on a storage unit is nearly up and I don't intend to pay for a third month! The collection (which has not seen the light of day in nearly half a year) is working it's way into the new home.
Some shelving units set up, and other shelves on the floor to mock-up the rest upon their arrival... These sweepers are NOT in their final places...just trying to get as many moved inside as quick as I can while leaving room to not trip on them! Many loads of sweepers, telephones, and personal belongings still to be moved! |

Wow that's a nice way to store uprights! It seems to take up less space than I thought. I'll likely have to store most of my vacuums in the garage so keeping them off the floor to save their brushrolls and chassis from humidity and damage is something I have to plan for. I think this method will work for me too.

All the best. Keep us abreast with photos. Great setup there. I'm sure you'll enjoy all of the new home 'stuff'.

Congratulations on taking the plunge into home ownership. It's an adventure, to say the least. I also applaud you on clearing out your storage unit. I wish I could do the same to mine. I've got the majority of my late father's toy collection (vintage electric trains, model cars, etc.) jammed solid into a 10'x20' storage unit. I was selling the stuff on eBay but I've lost momentum. Need to get cranked back up. There's just too much of it. I think the only answer is going to be to have one big ass auction.

Slowly filling in...apparently the last shelves did not make it into the truck today. Still about 30 sweepers to move in...
I spy a Silverado lurking in the hallway, and a Diamond J and Hot-rod 70 wait in the pantry... |

Congratulations and thanks for sharing your fantastic news. A new home is quite a great endeavor and something to surely be proud of. It's also great to eliminate a payment by ditching the storage unit. Not only that but now all of your fine finds from over the years can be in one place, in your home ready for you to run and enjoy or just look.
Best wishes on the rest of your move and congrats! |

Very nice! I like your shelving setup with canisters on bottom, uprights on top. I've used those shelves for my fan setups and would have never thought of that.
I like that green Sears Best Kenmore too! Congrats on the house! I'd love to own a home someday and have a room devoted to my collections, all in one organized space. But houses got too expensive now... maybe someday. |

Congratulations on the new home. And that Hospital G is gorgeous, by the way. |

About 10 functioning sweepers left to bring, then all the parts cadavers. Telephones and other vintage appliances still have to be moved in. The room is filling fast!

John...
I've ordered blackout curtains for the vacuum room. There isn't currently a working light in there, so I've been opening he blinds when I work in there. Thanks for the thoughts though! "Vacuum logo and posters" there is a box of old advertisements...somewhere in the disheveled mess of my parents basement...slowly but surely uncovering more |

Well the last of the machines made it into the house today. Nowhere near put away, but being days away from paying another months rent at the storage unit (which still had all of my tools, and the last of my furniture in it) I rushed everything to the house. Right now the place is a disheveled mess!
Pictures of the completed vac room are coming in the next week or so. My internet and home phone were connected today as well, so anyone who had my old landline number (ended in 2788) please discard it and message me or email me to get the new one. I will not be publicly posting it. |

Thank you, getting a little better every day! Foot is looking better every time they change the dressing, and my doctor is as thrilled with the progress as I am, and 2 wks. ago gave me the OK for limited walking in the house and going upstairs. Have been sleeping in my own bed ever since, instead of the futon in the living room, using the bathroom instead of the commode, and taking my own showers instead of having an aide for it. Thanks for asking, hope you are doing well too.

I had Sunday off, so I took some time to work more on the sweeper room. Jeff Parker showed me how he hangs up his Dial-A-Matics, so I used his formula to hang mine, as well as some power nozzles and coffee cans
