For the longest time I really thought the Hoover self-propelled WindTunnel was complete junk. Really over the years the design really had a lot of value to it.
It's also the default line in my head of the minimum power of vacuum should have. it's got incredibly way too many parts too manufacture, way too many parts to break. but somehow they kept production going for many years. It really was a marvel of engineering & production in it's time especially how cheap they were able to produce them. Was wondering how many of you have one or more in your collection? |

I have one in green, purchased it back in 2011 from Sam's Club. Used a few times, gave it to my mom, she never used it, sat in a closet a few years. Too heavy for her. She needed closet space, so it came to my house and was put in the collection.
I never use it, too bulky, heavy, jerky and overall not a fan of uprights. I have a few uprights in my collection; Convertibles, Dial-A-Matic and a Kenmore Twin Fan. It was an impulse buy based on the color and sale price at the time, haha I really should sell it.

I have two! One SP Windtunnel Premium and One TurboPOWER 7500. I use the Premium quite regularly while the TurboPOWER needs some TLC. |

Bought my parents that dark green Ultra version which was top-rated by Consumer Reports - maybe about 20 years ago. It was a gift for their anniversary since Dad was doing all the vacuuming back then in their large condo apartment in Toronto. Then my brother convinced them to rip out all the acres of wall to wall broadloom - to my dismay - and replace it with cold hardwood floors. So I exchanged the Hoover for my Kenmore Elegance (Progressive) canister and I used it for a while. I loved that Hoover! One of the best carpet cleaners around.
