Yes, exactly. Here, again, are the pages of my 1981 Southwest Manufacturers & Distributors catalog showing the wiring diagram for the Super-Sweep. It is these specialized single-speed fields that are hardest to come by, since the original versions were not widely available even when these machines were produced from 1967 to 1984, because I know in this catalog the replacement field they list is exactly the same one as for the Kirby Dual Sanitronic 50 and 80 (part no. 103968A, code 1959-1A). On the 1979 to 1984 models, including on your Super-Vac 180 and the COMVAC 1300, the field was part no. 103977, and had slightly different colored wires: the yellow wire on the top carbon brush was now an orange wire, and the green ground wire to the foot switch was now black; likewise, these later machines also used the same carbon brushes, holders and caps as models Classic Omega to Heritage II (which were all erroneously not listed for these machines in my '81 SWM&D catalog). ~Ben This post was last edited 08/05/2020 at 02:36 | ||

Same arrangement of wires to foot switch as on my working D80...
Green wire #1 to foot switch is from the field coil. Green wire #2 to foot switch is from the top carbon brush lead wire. Green wire #3 to foot switch is from the speed switch White wire #1 to foot switch is from the headlight socket. White wire #2 to foot switch is from the speed switch. White wire #3 to foot switch is from the field coil. Black wire #1 to foot switch is from the bottom carbon brush lead wire. Black wire #2 to foot switch is from the headlight socket. Last picture is of the two #6 screws; the longer of the two (7/16" long) is for the rear axle, the shorter one (3/8" long) for the headlight socket. ~Ben | ||
