Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this but I just finally found my own place to live and I was able to get most of my vacuums together under one roof again and I just wanted to show them off. I figured vintage would be the best place to put this cause most of my vacuums are oldies but goodies. The only vacuum not pictured here is my Electrolux Olympia which stays with my aunt cause it’s the easiest vacuumed she’s ever used being partially disabled but I assure you all it’s well taken care of by me regularly. Pictured is my Kirby Tradition, Heritage 2, G4 (Which is in hella need of tlc), Electrolux Discovery 2 (if anyone knows where to find a new top cover please let me know lol), Hoover Concept one and last but not least my Rainbow E2. I’m so excited to have them all with me again and my boyfriend is just happy I have no problem cleaning the carpets lol.

Nice set of vacuums your vacuuming is covered. This forum is appropriate as any.
Congrats

I have several similar machines. What's wrong with the top cover on your Electrolux? I assume you mean the lid to the bag compartment. The one on my Discovery Plus tends to open up by itself but I think the problem is more with the handle. I think I need to remove it and bend it more toward the body of the vacuum so it latches better. I'm also considering swapping it onto my Discovery II since that machine doesn't have a 'bag full' indicator and the Discovery Plus, which I don't really use, does.

In terms of finding that part, your best bet is probably going to be to check with an Aerus dealer or even a Kirby dealer or independent. They may have a donor machine you can harvest the part off of. You might also look for a donor machine on the cheap at a thrift shop or you might even find a free one by the curb. I've found them both places. It's a lot like fishing. A bite could happen at any time.

Meanwhile, enjoy your toys!
