It just pulls out...
The cord on the Discovery II and Discovery Plus just pulls out. It has a couple of little flanges on the sides to hold it in place, so you just have to wiggle it back and forth until it releases. The new cord will just push in the same way.
Although that machine was not equipped from the factory to accommodate a SideKick, you can get an adapter kit for it. The kit comes with a trapezoidal piece that attaches where the cord plugs into the machine and provides an extra female switched socket to power the SideKick. The kit also comes with a metal-tipped handle for your existing hose, a power cord and bands to attach it to the hose. I found a kit for my Discovery II on eBay for about $13. | ||
