They probably Googled it and stumbled across a thread on here with two or three Fantom fans calling it collectible. Or perhaps they stumbled across this article written by Tom Gasko talking about how the Wildcats go for over $500 on eBay, www.vdta.com/Magazines/NO....
Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it unless I planned to resell it to another collector. But I do know a few people who would kill for one. | ||

The Wildcat is that rare, yes. Especially with box. Obscure vacuums get rarer as the years go on and more collectors open up to them.
People pay that much and more for fully functional Hoover Z vacuums btw. There is a strong group of Fantom collectors on YouTube that turn over every storefront and thrift store to find a Fantom vacuum (including me).
